Ball for Melbourne in the PSD?

Ball via the psd?

Short answer - Yes

Long answer - Hell yes

The only way we wouldn't do this is if there was a better player who also slips through to the psd, I just can't see it happening though.

Ball would be a great pickup, perfect replacement for McLean

Edit: Cant spel and terible gramer

haha good thinking

everitt would add depth to our backline and ball would give moloney some support and add some more grunt to our young midfield next season

i hope this goes through.

we could make the 8

We are more likely to finish on the bottom again then make that 8, even if we got Ball.

Swans looking at 14 + 46 from Collingwood for Jolly.

Surprised Sydney is not in the market for Ball - he suits them perfectly.

I'd reckon the 14 in the Jolly deal straight to the Saints or to the Dogs for Everitt in a 3-way would get the job done with change.

If they can swing the 46 part for Mumford it would be Ball and Mumford for Jolly - not a bad week's work there.

If we beat all the teams we beat this year (both times we play them) AND add the likes of sydney, north melbourne and maybe essendon we can win 10 games.

In 2009 we lost 6 games by under 4 goals

Barring injury, I HIGHLY doubt we'll go backwards

These players may suit the St.Kilda style:

Buckley is in a similar mould to Gram, Ray and Clarke

Bartram and Dunn can play similar roles to Jones, Clarke, McQualter and Dempster

One of them may have appeal when packaged with 34 + 50.

More appeal than if Collingwood is offering Toovey, Stanley, Cook, Corrie or Bryan.

That's like saying Miller is in a similar mould to Riewoldt.

Gram and Ray are both quality ball users, Jones is almost the best tagger in the league by now, McQualter was pretty good this year and Dempster has premiership experience. Clarke was iffy in the GF but so were a lot of good players.

Neither of Buckley, Bartram or Dunn are in our best 25 if the whole list was fully-fit, and they wouldn't get a look in to St Kilda's best 30. Maybe we could package them all, along with Bell, PJ and Newton. Would that sweeten it enough? Add in the fact that they've just added Lovett and Peake (another running defender), there's no room for MFC rejects at Moorabbin.

All the Demons need to do is sit back and wait to see who slips through to the Pre-Season Draft.

Personally I would love to see the Demons snatch Luke Ball! :D

Although we could be REALLY sneaky and purposely waste time with ridiculous offers for trades today and tomorrow? However, I don't think we would sink to that level. I know Carlton and Collingwood would do under-handed tactics like that. <_<

I would take Mclean's kicking over Balls.

Luke Ball

I think he has Mclean covered. This would be a great inclusion to a developing midfield.

Search the country with a fine-tooth comb. First port of call.....Yuendumu.

No we let Collingwood "search the country with a fine-tooth comb" with all their money ... then we proceed to draft them first. ;)

Gram and Ray are both quality ball users,

we must be watching different games

Jones is almost the best tagger in the league by now,

agree - I don't think he's in their bottom 6, but he could get injured and Bartram and Dunn offer similar to his replacements

McQualter was pretty good this year and

damned by faint praise?

Dempster has premiership experience.

So does Steven Armstrong

Clarke was iffy in the GF but so were a lot of good players.

Now you're getting the picture, he's not a good player

St.Kilda (like Sydney) has a history of trading for other teams unwanted and unloved and plugging specific roles with them - Buckley, Bartram or Dunn may fit a need. Are they worse than Charlie Gardiner or more unloved than Zac Dawson was?

A super-sized one at that. Picking up Ball in the PSD would be a dream recruit for us right now and would knock the re-building phase up a couple of gears. Just like Judd did for the Blues. Please St Kilda, keep rejecting the Pies offers!

You are so right.Luke Ball + Picks 1-2-11-18 is a fine weeks work, for the loss of Brock McLean.

If that occurs we are very astute.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
