"Funny rumour"

lol this crap is not true.

Au contraire, Mr Morton. That would be "funny" rumour. The difference is small, but significant, as I'm sure you appreciate.

You can refuse any father son and take your chance in the draft if you desire.

I doubt id have much loyalty to my father's football team if i never knew him until there was something in it for him/them.

Good comedy value though.

Dam yaa.....I new someone would pick up on it.

Its all [censored], i was at a wedding on the weekend,

i had a Melbourne tie on, was in the pisser, walking out a bloke stopped and asked me what i thought of tom Scully?

i replied he is a gun, and we shall take him first pick, he then replied "i know his old man and tom has resigned to the fact that he will end up at Melbourne, and he is looking forward because of the young players coming through and is looking forward to the opportunity"

no [censored] here!!!

The whole thread is laughable and should be removed.

I want 5 minutes of my life back...

Oh, I'd just waste it anyway...

Can't we bid pick one?

Yes, but that would mean that Carlton could get him by giving up their first round pick. The last bid goes to the club with f/s rights to the kid, and they only have to match the highest round that has been previously offered by other clubs.

Of course, none of this will eventuate because this is a stupid, baseless rumour that has no merit whatsoever. I hope.

This thread is pathetic.

However, the above comment is very much true. I know this as a fact! Tom resigned himself to becoming a Demon back in May. He is very excited about adding to our young list, he knows and has played with many of our recent recruits and is looking very much forward to his opportunity.

I seem to remember an interview with Watts and he said that the two of them are great mates and he was hoping Scully would join him at Melbourne.

Good to hear.

True, but you do need a good laugh every once in a while. Pathetic maybe but its good for comic relief!. :P

Whilst I trust the whole rumour is just that and Carlton have next to absolutely no chance of getting Scully, if it were true I guess it wouldnt surprise me that they would try anything to get him to their club.

Scully is ours and they just have to suck it up and watch him become bigger than the Juddster!!

The good part about it is that not only will Scully be bigger and better than the Juddster but so too will be Trengove if reports of his sensational form with Sturt are true.

And then there's Jack Grimes.

We're coming Carlton.

Not so sure about the players who are yet to even play an AFL game, I'm sure Carlton could add a whole heap of young draft players to their list. That includes Scully, he has still not played AFL. Atm we are sitting last on the ladder.....we are not coming YET. Yes we have a lot of young players coming through but we are still a poor team.

Trengove and Scully will be bigger and better than Judd? You will get a sore tooth Bean Dailey. It's fair enough to say how good they are at the level they are playing atm and to say they have the potential to be fantastic footballers but to suggest that they both maybe better than Judd is being very optimistic.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
