DEBT DEMOLITION

Featured Replies

Is that based on another month of debt demolition or based on a bumper year in terms of profit? Do you think the club will continue it as an annual event?

It's based on next year's Debt Demolition month - with any luck we'll have less than $1M to demolish, which should be a motivator.

I think the Club will continue Debt Demolition month as long as there's a debt to demolish.

What about another initiative after the debt is demolished: -

ie. Surplus Survival ;)

Just wanted to push this very important thread back up to the top of the board to remind those who are in a position to donate who have not yet made a contribution to do so ASAP! Let's get rid of this proverbial concrete block around the club's legs! Remember, you can do a regular monthly credit card payment if a one-off contribution isn't to your liking!

Must keep bumping Brettmcg, every bit helps. Let's shatter this concrete block that weigh's our club down.

Everyone should be posting in this thread when they make a donation.

Come on guys !!! Lets get rid of all the bad stuff surrounding our club and start next year a fresh!

Just set up my monthly payment of $50 for the next 12 months. Must admit, I wasn't huuuuugely impressed with the customer service representive. Could have been a little more enthusiastic <_<

Thats a fantastic pledge mate!

Well done!!

Yeah, nice work mate.

Sometimes working in those sorta jobs you get numbed to the figures involved and the personal cost, but that's a significant effort and I'm bloody impressed. ;)

I'm trying to build the strength to do that again myself. Didn't sting too much last time, but mind you, I still haven't paid off the credit card it came off.

Yeah I guess so, but I am thinking the MFC Membership Department is hardly run off its feet at the best of times - not sure what she'd be doing apart from sitting around and answering a phone call every now and then. Thought they might also have a pre-formulated response like "Thank you very much for contributing to the Club's survival" or something. All I got was a "I'll process that for you today. Goodbye".

Ah well..in the end it's not about the recognition - a few premierships will be thanks enough.

How would you know what is actually happening in the MFC member department at the moment??

If you not happy with the service from the Club why dont you call the club to provide some constructive feedback. Far more usual than criticism on a public forum.

BTW, well done on the pledge to the Club. Very noble. Great stuff

Geez...if that's what is considered "slagging off" these days then some of the posts on here must almost be high treason. I only wanted to relate my experience - I had wondered if others had noticed similar. I don't purport to know what is going on in the Membership Department at the moment, which is exactly why I prefaced the comment with "I am thinking that...". It's an opinion - you know? Mike Sheahan publishes his every day in the Hun? Usually it's wrong. ^_^

Let's not argue about such trivial issues, however. The thread and donation drive is 10000000 times more important.

all you do is critisise on a public forum, just like the other 2000 members.

From what I read, all you do is ridicule others. I'd pull your head in if I were you. Post something useful for once.

Mousey, there is good news and bad news.

The good news is that I have made my donation the the debt demolition.

The bad news is that the funds have come out of the "Send Mousey to the 2010 Queen's Birthday Bash Appeal", replenishment strategies now required

haha champ you are. Dont be silly im trying my best to get in position for that to happen on my own anyway.

I would much rather you and all to put money into a cause like this that NEEDS to be done.

Needs and Wants :) basic economics :)

Thanks anyway mate and good job with the donation!

I didn't see anything wrong with your post - you certainly weren't abusive or over-the-top.

As someone said, I guess in the defence of the rep you can get a bit 'numb' to it or perhaps their dog just died etc.

However, I do agree with you regarding even a scripted thanks response - it's a small thing, sure, but that's what customer service is all about.

I've been employed in a somewhat similar circumstance and whether it's $10 or $250 the response is always the same.

Of the ~$4m raised so far, an incredible amount has been raised by less than 500 people - probably over 75%.

Just shows how influential it can be to have powerful supporters.

Hey, weren't 1957 and 1959 good years? 1958 was a disappointment, but still a good year.

You'll need to think it through.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
