Round 4 vs. Richmond crowd prediction

If news spreads that Jack Watts kicked 15 goals for Casey tonight then about 42,865. ;)

If, as I suspect, Jack struggles and Robbo does little to influence the game tonight then you can cut the amount of MFC supporters by half. In that case, 36,625.

34,000

and it's very winnable.

Make sure you sit at the city end behind the goals, because thats where the Melbourne cheer squad will be, and bunch it in so we are look united and we will generate more noise.

hmmm, don't think i'll be sitting there. Will you?

Probably, But are you going to be sitting at the city end? at least near the Melbourne cheer squad?

My footy game starts at 12:00 and Melb:Rich starts at 2:10. So what time do you recken I will get to Melb:Rich at? I`m defiantly still going. Not so bad next week Melbourne vs Adelaide Sunday MCG 4:40 and 12:00 my footy starts, so I will defiantly get to next weeks game on time.

I'd say it'll be about 35,000. Should be a wild atmosphere if it's tight in the last.

I might be sitting lvl 3 olympic stand.

It's good to stay away from the punt rd end for Richmond home games.

Yeah, you sit in the Olympic stand at home games don`t you. I sit in the Great southern stand level 2A either behind the goals, in my reserved seats on level 2A on the half forward flank or either In the Melbourne cheer squad just to increase the numbers and generate more noise.

Where are ya playing at? Hopefully get there at quarter time or something, as long you leave straight away from the game.

Playing at home. I will get to the game just to the end of the 1st quarter I recken.

Yea I've got a reserved seat at Lvl 2 Olympic stand near the wing. I usually like to sit at Q49 for away games/ other games as I did for Collingwood V Melbourne. Bottom level Olympic Stand is all reserved for tomorrow's game I sit there sometimes as well.

Do you sit at Q49 level 3 on the Olympic stand at away games at the G?

37650 to watch Tezza coach his last game!?

40,763 at the MCG

Congrats to QueenC with a prediction of 41,000 being the closest.

Winners:

Round 1: (H) Melbourne vs North Melbourne - 28,707 at the MCG - Nugget Jones (29,000)

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
