The chicken movie

The North Melbourne players mini movie was in poor taste, but that's all.

I suppose the club had to come clean in the way it did, but I think their cleansing outrage is a bit over the top.

I'm not particularly young, but I got my wife to view the Youtube video and give me feed back, unprepared by me.

She felt it was in poor taste, typically testosterone laced and based .... but not overly denigrating to women. She believed it was typical male adonis strutting peacock ritual. She felt the music, which was not recorded by the Nth Melb players was probably the most denigrating part of the whole show. Can the players be blamed for that, other than for airing it?

Also we all know Adam Simpson, for one, is a genuine nice guy and family guy, and not one to denigrate women.... or chickens.

Anyway, the whole thing is an over-reaction in this day and age. Compared to some AFL and NFL player acts, this is extremely low on the Richter scale. We hope the AFL and Nth Melb footy club do not run this issue harder than it needs to.

Agree!

Your avatar is far more offensive!

But I like it ;)

Thought the video was hilarious myself.

The reaction by the media was a joke.

I bet Sam Lane and Caroline Wilson loved the video, despite acting like fake saints and condemning it.

I hope there are some more episodes yet to be released, I would like to follow the adventures of Boris.

His thoughts on the 'Chickengate' debacle.

Agree 100% with everything he said. The whole thing was a media circus, and a chance for deluded women to push that 'womens rights' [censored] again.

Samantha Lane should be ashamed of herself also. Pathetic 'journalist'.

Any chance Caro put it on Samantha's desk and said, "Here, you handle this one.....I copped it last year!"

I didn't find that movie offensive, it actually made me laugh, and I'm a woman.

Was it in poor taste? Sure. Was it the most horrible, demeaning thing available freely on the net? Hell no (I'm sure most people here have seen the famous Jizz in my Pants clip, which is just as tasteless!)

If I was a North supporter I'd be pretty [censored] off at the players not for making this silly movie, but for being stupid enough to have North Melbourne logos appearing in nearly every frame and then putting it on YouTube for all to see. It would have [censored] off the sponsors, and in general was an unnecessary distraction.

Given that I couldn't care less about North Melbourne or the stupidity of their players, the overreaction to the whole situation had me wondering just how bored is the media?!

Yes the video was rough, but if a guy is going to watch it and deduct from the video that mistreating women and running them over with a van is OK, then they are a lost cause anyway and are most likely [censored] already.

Aker is 100% right in saying that there are plenty of dirty slappers out there who throw themselves at footballers in the most demeaning way, and they give football-loving women a bad name. It is much more upsetting to me as a women to know that there are girls out there silly enough to put themselves in harms way just for the sake of getting it on with a footballer.

100% correct. The Media is getting worse by the week in how they blow out stories. It has definately got worse since SEN started broadcasting. Stories just Fester & Morph. There is one journo on SEN who drives me insane Matt someone, he is the most unimaginative Journo i have EVER heard (I worked in a newsroom for 10 years way back). Acker was Spot on. The "Death Row" headline was the same. Tasteless & Wrong. One day a coach will suicide & the Herald Sun will be to blame.

Jizz In My Pants tasteless??? It's only the funniest, most hilarious video ever invented ;)

And does absolutely nothing to enhance the sexual reputation of men

I Must check it out-Thanks!!

Sam Lane was in my class for 4 years of high school. Couldn't shut her up, chatter chatter chatter. She was full of self importance back then and a real attention seeker!

Most Carlton Supporters are like that aern't they. Some things never change. I would really like to snap Andy Maher somewhere around the Head Area in my life. Whenever he goes on about Carlton my Vore Body Temperature rises Greatly!

There was one way...

I didn't find that movie offensive, it actually made me laugh, and I'm a woman.

Have you seen the whole thing?

There was a discussion on Footy Classified where Grant Thomas (and perhaps some others) said they held similar views to you until they saw the un-cut version.

The uncut version is free for anyone to see on Youtube.

If anyone is offended by it, I feel sorry for you.

I saw a version that went for like 4 minutes or so, which I think is the full one.

Not sure if it was the un-cut version though

As I said, it is stupid and demeaning, but you can enter just about any keyword into Google these days and you'll come up with at least one unsavory website. Not that that's an excuse, but the only reason this made the news is because footballers were involved. If you're stupid enough to implicate your football club in anything that isn't 100% about footy, you're a moron.

Absolutely.

Was dragged along to see Janine Garfoulo (spelling?) the American "comic" last Friday and she was launching into football players in general. Turned me off from the start and thought it was a typical over reaction

Yeah, she's a shocker. Its faux alternative comedy for those that read New Idea.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
