I signed up for the $25 Age subscription (which is a great deal), which stated that we would receive Fri, Sat, Sun, Monday's Age newspapers for all of 2009.

The first one (Friday 2nd Jan) didn't arrive so I called up the Age subscription people - it turns out that they don't have my address on file as the MFC has shut down over xmas-new year and hasn't yet sent across all the information. This may be understandable if I signed up for my membership in late December but I renewed in early November and received a call from the club just after to confirm the address details specifically for the newspaper delivery.

Supposedly it should come through around the 16th Jan - which is six papers I'm missing out on. Not the biggest concern in the world but you worry that if they can't organise a newspaper subscription how can they run a footy club.

Our is delivered by the local newsagent, can you take it up with them in the interim? It may be as easy as showing them some ID or printed receipt of purchase and you're all good. Otherwise maybe it hasn't formerly commenced yet and your 52 weeks will will end later cos it started later

I have already been receiving mine for the last 4 weeks. Had no problems. Sounds strange. But also, I don't think The Age have anything to do with delivery. It would be your local newsagent. I may be wrong, but I think that's generally how it works.

It's done by the local newsagents (who I assume have a list handed to them by The Age).

The first few I had kept getting nicked, I went in to ask if they could throw the papers further down the drive and he said no worries, and also to pick up a copy of the day's paper.

It's a great initiative and will save you money in the long run anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just ask the newsagents

A quick question on this, I signed up for it, got my first paper today, but when I signed up I didnt enter my membership number (stoopid computer wouldnt load the field), so I was wondering how they identified I was a member, does anyone know?

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
