Nudge said Despite putting him on the table, there was a lack of interest today for Paul Wheatley, however it is only early days. Its seen the demons may lower their expectations on offers for the Utility.

but

Chris Connelly said "There is nothing with O'hAilpin and Paul Wheatley's name wasn't mentioned today," Connolly said.

Can I put this quote in my signature. :P

It must be awfully difficult to put someone on the table, but at the same time not mention said person. :D

Maybe they wrote his name on a piece of paper and passed it across the table. :D

Its one thing to say that another club has asked about a player, but you're pretty naive if you think the club is going to announce they are actively shopping him to other clubs.

I read what Connolly said as 'no one was interested and we'll most probably have to keep him, so we won't upset our player by publicly shopping him'.

You do realise that you can't take everything a club official says as gospel, don't you?

or are you just trying to discredit other people cos you're frustrated at your own lack of inside knowledge?

Thanks Nudge and Addam.

Can't understand all the sniping on this thread . I agree with Hannabal, if you think it's crap don't waste your time reading it.

im not sure how to do links, but i was just reading on foxsports website that melbourne expect Green to resign by the end of the week. He and bailey had a big chat sunday night to work things out.

Yeah well said Sagey.

Thanks for going out of your way to give us any info. And even if it turns out to be crap, at least it's interesting and it's not your fault anyway so no one loses.

Thanks for your efforts. I'd love to have the inside word just once.

If this was in The Age most of you nay-sayers would be orgasming all over it and spreading it throughout the forum

Please.... you are on hand saying not to take a club official's word as gospel but yet you are willing to take an anonymous internet forum poster as gospel.....

Absolutely staggering.

Quite possibly the biggest sniper on site who attempts to belittle people for having an opinion........ christ Hannabal is close to the biggest hypocrit god gave breath to.

I'm not taking it for gospel, i just don't see the point of discrediting nudge when i have no proof either way.

And i think its Connolly's job to not show his hand to the media, thats my point.

Either way, reading Connolly's words, i would infer he actually means that no other club has actively sought a trade for Wheatley with him as the target.

MFC might have offered him, but, as i'd imagine, he'd be knocked back as an undesirable return for whatever we want.

It doesn't pay to take anyone's words so literally in this situation.

Anyway, enough with the stupid accusations. what a waste of time.

Are you still having trouble seeing past the mound on your forehead, Sleeve ?

Well look here.... toss out the bait and the big fella arrives.

Nice to see you Hannabal. How's the [censored] polishing... er I mean.... the metal polishing business going ole Sparkey?

As I mentioned in my post on saturday,

The demons have offered up The above players for trade, and attracted more interest than even they could of expected.

NO deals are expected to be completed until Late Wednesday or early Thursday.

Whether true or not mate, I enjoy reading your posts. It helps relieve my boring day and gives me something to ponder. Keep it up, as this week will be over quickly and then there are six boring weeks until the draft.

......"Hawthorn also showed interest in Melbourne's Brad Green, but the Demons say the utility is close to signing a new contract."

From The Age

I must say I am disappointed by this. I think he has had a career year for us and showed what kind of leader he is but he iwll not play in the flag for us so get the best pick you can for him and hopefully get a player who will be playing in a flag for us.

Exactly what he meant, well said..

Dont worry, this guys mum has given him 2 much red cordial..

I mean, if Im making it up, how the hell did I say saturday that CJ, Green, Jamar would be offered?

Which we now they indeed were..

Honestly, IMO, what Connolly said backs me up, as I knew out of today noone was interested, thus, I didnt post any trade rumours regarding him, even though word was that sydney wanted him..

Chris meant that his name was NOT MENTIONED by any clubs..

It's a simple formula really. You just mix up a fair bit of known information that has been aired in the media with a modicum of speculation and then you cover yourself by saying that only a small percentage of what you know will ever come to fruition and bob's your uncle. You sound authoritative and the mugs are going to believe you. It's the old Chiliboy system that got exposed a couple of years ago and that's why he never posts here under that name any more.

Chiliboy is now on Big Footy where he has stated that Brad Green will definitely be traded to Collingwood, Geelong, StKilda or Hawthorn. He's singing a different song to Nudge

Yeah, go mate, someone with some ironclad sense, just like Sarah Palin.

Oh, by the way, is it true that the world is in fact flat?

Good post. I expect none to very few suggested trades and/or rumours to come to fruition, but at least these are plausible and not extreme.

Nudge is generally pretty good with this stuff. Keep up the good work, or at lease keep up the interesting reads.

PS: If you dont like it, dont read it and quit posting your whining

Well, its possible, but highly doubtful... do you really think someone would go to that much effort so that some other faceless posters on this forum will have a bit of respect for his screen name?

Does anyone care that much what the other anonymous people on here think of them?

More than anything, i like reading posts like this - a list of purported facts raising plausible scenarios with minimal hype - without them turning into pointless character assassinations.

I wish a few of you guys could generate some threads that did the same.

You guys might not know me as I'm not a regular poster anymore.

I am an associate and friend of board member Peter Szental and phoned him tonight for an update on todays proceedings.

.......

Thanks Addam, at least you've got the balls to reveal your source.

What's interesting is that we're targeting so many players, yet I thought that the plan was to acquire draft picks. Personally, I like this approach.

Is it balls? or a breach of confidentiality?

depends on the sources wishes really...

What, make up trade scenarios and pretend that you have inside information?

I think that Nudge showed that he's just a very naughty boy when he tried to call Arem an imbosile (sic).

At least it has factual basis, unlike Nudge's work of fiction.

yeah, but we already know you like to make judgements without listening to reason.

How do you know it has factual basis?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
