Robert Warnock

haha not sure CAC has learnt anything.

Looks like it was Warnock's decision, not Richmond's

To the contrary, it was Richmond's decision not "to come to the party with a 4th year on their offer".

I would suggest that this should also be Melbourne's decision.

It's lunacy to pay that sort of coin for a player like Warnock.

End of story.

david armitage for pick 19 is what i've heard if the club dont use 19 on warnock or any other trade

I seriously doubt St Kilda would trade Armitage.

The guy has talent and was picked for the finals, so Armitage can't blame lack of opportunity.

I would however take the trade in a heartbeat.

reliable source: and you can bet your bottom dollar if we get another top 20 pick or another there abouts pick, and don't use 19 on warnock- the deal will happen. It's been arranged.

Love those "reliable sources".

I also love those "if's", "buts" and "maybe's".....

It's official. Warnock is going to Richmond for their 3rd choice on a reported $550K pa on a 4 year deal. Just joking.

According to a report in the paper this morning Warnock will go to Carlton for pick 24, he will get paid $1.5m over 4 years. He apparently said the opportunity to play beside Judd influenced his decision.

Mind you Freo want pick 6 so it's not a done deal yet, but Melbourne have seemingly pulled out of the race because of the size of the contract he is seeking.

Im over this hack now anyway. Stef Martin could even be a proposition judging by his efforts yesterday and i know he has played in the ruck.

Which paper?

Which paper?

Was mentioned in the West Australian and the South Australian Advertiser.

It should be noted that the author of that article has a history of being anti-fremantle.

For what it's worth (and I don't care if you beleive me or not) - I spoke with a player in Carlton's Leadership Group on Grand Final day, who told me that (amongst other things) Warnock to Carlton is a done deal, including an agreement with Fremantle.

Of course its a done deal and of course a member of Carlton's leadership group is going to just tell some random about the deal.

exactly thats just bullS***

if we don't get warnock

what are we going to do? we need a ruckman. Jamr is crap, and PJ is better as the no 2. cos he can play forward and back

spencer is a while off but looking good, and meesen is a dud

Comprehension not one of your strong points?

I don't think its a matter of believing you mate... for me its more a matter of believing the player.

Word of mouth is a powerful tool. Could be just saying it to get the word out and give Warnock a little shove, if he's only leaning their way.

Could be any number of reasons they'd say it - because its true is only one of them.

Comprehension not one of your strong points?

See the bolded section below:

Oh... it's a strong point.... I saw your comment and I'm glad you don't care that people know you're a complete and utter liar..... I comprehend that just fine, Champ.

Understand your point of view, but sprinting 100m - you can't judge him alone on this effort for a ruck proposition Mousey. But geez the run was impressive for a big man.

Patience and a strong resolve is needed by our recruiters. If we start paying players above thier worth now it will come back to bite us when we have a crack at a flag.

Warnock would be nice but not at any cost. The down side and precedent it sets is a big risk.

Spencer is a while off, Meesen doesn't look like it but could make. Rookie list another ruckman maybe, some very good ruckmen have been developed this way. We wont need a ruckman to play finals next year. Spencer or someone else may thrust thier name forward by 2010.

400,000 a year, you have to be joking!!

Well done MFC to push his price this high (if true). Sell your VISY shares, they will struggle to turn a profit with these guys on the books.

hahaahahaha 400K a year for an anorexic beanpole who has done nothing at AFL level.

Cant wait til we play Carltank and PJ gives his bony arse the run around.

Report in Sunday herald sun that we are out of the race for him as we cant fit him into our salary cap, if this is true then we are doing something very wrong worst performed side for the year we pay the highest compared to any other club.

W.T. F is going on

The Hun report didn't mention the salary cap. We're out of the race because Warnock's $ claims are over the top.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
