the new demon sucks

im now going for option B because i hate that logo and i hope and prey that it will not be our logo next year

if we are officially going back to the demon, either use the 2007 demon or start fresh, dont just make the 2007 look worse

Love the people who refuse to vote, as if that does anything. No one hears your silent protest. If you don't like either, pick the one you hate less.

Melbourne do not have the stability / wealth / support to refuse AFL instructions on a clash jumper, how can you not see this?

Posted

Our game is UNIQUE and it should stay that way

If people get told long enough that there are jumpers that clash then people will actually start believing it

There is no clash

If we must i have no idea why they cant just invert the jumper ......isnt that what Collingwood did

can someone actually show me what Collingwoods so called clash jumper looks like ?

That is only my opinion on the two options.

That said, why are we forced to choose a white clash strip? I don't understand why teams like Essendon can get away with their design and we have to come up with something like that (yes, yes a constitution you say). Do the AFL bully the MFC? What other decisions (perhaps recent) have the AFL hand their hand in? I don't know. I can only speculate. Yes, I am sceptical of our relations with the AFL.

The filth don't take any [censored] from the AFL...the scum that is Esssendon don't take any [censored] from the AFL. It is the MFC that shouldn't be taking [censored] from ANYBODY. But, I digress... the MFC have their reasons. The board knows more about our circumstances that anyone us. Maybe we are forced to cut our loses and loose this battle (and a few more to come). I understand that. As long as we win the war.

I'm going option 1 though, bring back the demon. Option 2 looks too much like a rip off Carlton guernsey.

I agree.

As you say, Option A gives more prominence to the 'Demon', which everyone apparently loves.

It's probably more kid-friendly too, and lets face it - older people aren't going to jump ship because of a jumper :P

the new demon sucks

I'm not a fan either.

This is my reply from the club......

Thank you for your feedback and thanks for voting today. It is an AFL requirement for the basis of the clash strip to be a light colour, so as to avoid clashes with other clubs whose players wear a dark strip.

Kind Regards MFC.

So I replied saying Essendon has no white !!!

Tell the AFL, not the MFC - directly, or via the media.

Indeed.

Fwiw, votes at 1:1 ratio atm.

they are both fine, option b being the better

stop your whinging all of you- yes we know that essendon and collingwood make slight alterations but who cares

english premier league clubs that have been around the same time (but we're just older!!!) ie man United etc. have totally different colour away/clash strips

they are fine- at the end of the day, we want to be winning footy, and we arent going to play all those teams in an away game to wear it 5 times in the season anyway.

LOL...

Agreed thats one ugly demon, I like the predominantly red one from prevous years

B for me.

743 votes....50/50 ????? I reckon it's stopped calculating. Every time I check it's 50/50.... and how can that be with an odd number of votes

Hmmm....decisions decisions.

Clash2.jpg

I don't really like either but I decided to choose Option A because Jimmy Stynes wants to bring us back as the Melbourne DEMONS!

this is rigged.... still 50/50 but lots more votes

Had a similar response to some back form club as to why the Red one we liked wasnt a goer.. . Am asking the AFL what constitutes "light " for colour now.. And sure if its about clash then it cant be all black and white because we know where that goes !!:lol:

I know Jimmy is keen on the Demon.. hell..we are Demons. .but thats a pretty lame Demon.. .. I think id much prefer the other MFc emblem one on the field.. Am amazed its even stevens to tell the truth

revisedclash2sl3.th.jpg

Well it got me thinking...if we cant decide...maybe we could combine the two..lol

its a bit rough but yo get the idea..

Purely unintentional ..but we get a Devilish One eyed Demon keeping watch over our beloved MFC !!

go Dees

bit easier to see now

Not bad Bub!

Made me want to throw up much less than our actual two options. Talk about the Melbourne Demons Football Club! Option B if anything surely

Posted

I hate the pretend choice. There is no third option ('neither'), so the result is meaningless - but will be presented as 'the jumper you wanted'.

Our heritage is sold down the river as soon as we include white on the jumper.

'Every heart beats true for the red and the blue and the white.'

I don't think so.

Posted

At least White's not a colour, so our colours would still be red and blue...

ok, what if you used the jumper that yuo have suggested BUT continued the v line (the bottom part of the demon) up to the shoulders of the jumper, then inverted the red and white colours in that region.

so it was a white jumper with a red yolk, a white demon face in the red yolk and the blue mfc monogram.

any chance you can do that so we can have a look?

i saw on bigfooty someone saying some guy did a design of a demon logo within 30 min saying he could do better than the one we had this year. Seriously i cant believe we payed like 1 million bucks ( thats what people were reporting) for that logo this year, wonder why we are in debt!!

But anyway i found the logo the guy made- not sure if its been shown here but i REALLY like it? Anyone else?

Melbournelogohoogs.jpg

EDIT- I voted for B

354 Votes- 51 =49% to B Favour at the moment

Love that demon! Looks evil, just what we need. Better than the frown the old demon's wearing on option A. I reckon option A would look much, much better if the blue was a solid straight hoop the width of the demons yoke (the v shaped bit). It'd recreate our home strip a bit more.

i did a paint job but it is a horrible job, and im not sure how to put it up here anyway lol it could look alright. might need some tuning...

I showed the options to my 7yr old nephew who is a Melbourne fan. He instantly identified the demon as Melbourne and thought the other one was Carlton and i agree.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
