Tim Boyle of Hawthorn

I'd prefer not because he seems unable to get ou t on th epark ofr more than half the season, and we already have a pretty average list re: injuries. No need. WE also don't have the midfield to make him look good.

Apparently moving clubs next year. Would he come into consideration as a possible filler while our younger draft choices develop?

The Hawks recently have traded players to other clubs who have failed miserably. Rawlings and Hay are two examples.

The exception would be Thompson.

1 out of 3 isn't the worst.

Rawlings was pretty good in his first year at the Dogs - just couldn't kick.

And Hay had depression and was on a million and one drugs at the time

It is if you are getting one of the two failures and paying heavily for the privilege.

I'm not sure about Boyle.

If we traded for Warnock, then i wouldn't be against getting Boyle in PSD.

Purely because he has talent, is pretty young and we are so desperate for KPP. Watts, at 17, cannot be expected to make an impact in first 2 years.

So he could be good for a couple of years. who knows, with more responsibility he may become a really good player.

but i would not trade for him. no way

consideration as a possible filler

Why would we want a 'filler'? If that's the rationale, no way.

don't even think about touching boyle, the only reason he seems enticing is because of the work of buddy, roughhead and williams. He is there 4th go to men and not worth it and he would be struggling if he played with us or have no impact.

Let me put this in perspective for everyone with a few facts that should end this thread any ridiculous notion we should bother with this dud.

Boyle will be 25 in Rnd 1 2009.

He is a (soon to be) 25 year old who has only managed 31 games since he was drafted in 2002.

He has managed 39 goals that 6 years. In a Hawthorn side that until recently was very weak, he still couldnt crack a game.

He has managed 6 games this year for 6 goals in a Hawthorn team, that while Buddy conscious, sends the ball forward more than anyone (bar Geelong).

He averages less than 1 tackle a game. In a team where we desperately need defensive pressure, he has none.

So in essence, he is a Brad Miller, minus aggression, a shred of talent, somehow kicks LESS goals (never thought it were possible) and has the work ethic of a Mexican janitor.

If anything, I'd trade a pick NOT to have him on our list. He is a dud.

I hope you all realise how stupid it is to even bother talking about this guy. Close this thread now plz k thx bai

I have posted here a few weeks ago that he'd be a handy aquisition, really help out down forward, is a graet kick, and can take a grab..

Only 24, and is worth looking at, especially if we can get him cheap, say a deal with a pick between 30-40 would be great, worth more, but you never know!

I like him alot!

Exactly what we need to help out Robbo and Syl.. A 198cm tall forward!

Did you not just read what I wrote?

If not, here it is again to try and ram it home!

Ill put this in language some of you may understand.

TIM BOYLE IS A F*CKING DUD!!!one!

Also Nudge, he is not 198cm tall, he is 193cm and 95kg.

So he is smaller than Brad Miller, who is 194 and 96kg.

He is smaller than Brad Miller, 6 months younger and has kicked half as many goals. If that doesnt spell DUD I dont know what does and I may as well not bother posting on this site anymore, because if people here want this guy in their team, then we're another 44+ years away from a flag.

[censored] I hate the trade/draft time, and it hasnt even started yet!

I suspect that teams will be trading just about anything to get a good trade pick this year. The last thing we want to do is be tempted by someone useless now and useless for our plans AND give away a pick. If you want to do something useful, think of how we can get WC's 1st pick or Feeo's.

On those stats you would have to say that there is better out there and always the chance of a youngster in the draft. Many on this site don't rate Newton, but he would have more upside than Boyle if he can put on some muscle over summer.

What kind of stats we expected from your 4th forward? Kick a few goals, set up a few for others, lay a few tackles to keep the ball in the forward line, may be catching some on the wing. Having said that, what this guy has done? Avg 5 kicks, not quite a tackle and 3 marks per game. Not even he did the IMPOSSIBLE for kicked less goal than Miller, even our Newton boy, who plays the same number of games this year, managed to kick more goal than him. Newton is at least supposed to be our target if he is on the park, while this guys in Hawk's 4th. We will do better if we play White as permanent forward.

Lord Travis. i couldn't agree more

the analog to miller sums him up

miller has had a good year, but needs to take ANOTHER STEP, so much potential for too long
