ok...someone has to say it.. This is very one dimensional !! Many of us have come up with ideas that would not only facilitate greater donations..Arguablynot al lin a one hit block..but certainly able to do greater damage over a year. And be TAX DEDUCTABLE.

Those that want to say Im just be negative.. go for it..all line up over here >>>>>>>>>>>>

This is very gung ho and not too bright.

I will be giving in other areas.Surely we have greater acumen at the club to come up with better ways than this.

Sorry folks .very disaappointed if this is "The great plan !!"

Agree with you that if rattling tin cans is all there is to it then we're in trouble. However, I've had discussions with Jimmy and one other director and they assure me that the debt demolition plan is only the first phase or the first quarter. An outline of the plan has been placed on the club's website and further details will be made public in due course.

It's up to the club's members and supporters to support the board's efforts and to also keep the board on its toes if they're not doing their job.

I agree with what's been presented so far Bub, but i don't think it will be all that comes forward.

I think this comes first as part of the new attitude that the debt WILL be removed, not the board saying we HOPE the debt gets removed

Come on Demon fans. The site says on $11,276.00 collected to date. When you take into account the ten grand put in by the Richmond supporter, that's almost nothing from the true faithful!

It was $126,276 until McNamee was sacked!

The Club is thrilled to have the support of FOXTEL, which is generously matching the contributions of members and supporters - dollar for dollar - up to $100,000.

This is the part of that page that interested me.

Well, not really. That was his salary and we were going to have to pay it anyway.

Now, why he was on such an absurd amount of money is another matter

It's a fantastic idea and a good initiative by the club to setup a website to help donate.

Just get the feeling though Jimmy cant just rely on the members to get rid of our debt through donations. Something major needs to be done before we drop deeper and deeper into debt.

yeah win a flag so they come out of the woodwork

I've just made a $50 donation and it is fantastically simple.

I'll wait to see what other ideas the club comes up with but by the end of the month I plan to have put in at least $260 - to match the cost of our memberships (me and my two kids).

Come on Demonlanders - no negativity please - just generosity.

Got my donation ready and the website is a good idea, but I haven't received an email from the Club or seen it on the website so not sure how they are informing people it is there and that they are waiting for our donations, lucky you guys are on the ball!...

Just like we all want to hear we WILL win the Premiership by 2015, NOT we hope to win a Premiership by 2015.

That's silly.

We're going to have a CEO work for free for the next couple of months, so we won't be paying any more than what we'd done if we'd kept McNamee for the next couple of months and not had to pay him out.

I accidentaly clicked on the site... then felt obliged to commit $50...

well done to foxtel for the potential 100,000... i might even think about maybe getting a quote for IQ2 now......

Just a though (after i handed over my money) - Does anyone know if the debt demolition site is for real? The reason i ask is because i havent recieved any information from the club about the site. There isnt even a link off the MFC homepage.

It could all be well and good, they havent gotten around to it or they are waiting till after the dinner tomorrow night to advertise it but the thought crossed my mind that somebody could be out to make a buck. That said, it does look the business and the reciept is from the payment company MFC use from memory.

What i'm really looking for is some reassurance. I would hate the money i donated not to make it to the club.

Could not agree more.

I sincerly hope that there is alot more to it than just a donation site. If not, its fair to say that were stuffed.

Cant help but feel that all this will do is keep the interest at bay.

I just called the club and asked Demon85 - it is legit so you haven't just donated to some Nigerian scammer!

The site will be officially launched on Wednesday after the 150 heroes dinner, it will also be updated then so it hasn't taken into account the thousands of dollars pledged since our encouraging performance against the bummers on the w/e.

To all the knockers - the club is finally doing something and getting the word out so just give them a break and get behind the idea. We will see in the next 5 years if it is a complete waste of time and we can't stand on our own two feet.

I've just forwarded the link to everyone on my contact list... all work employee's... everyone...

Alot of people who aren't as passionate as us, although may still pledge $50, may not hear much about the site even after the launch, so spread the word people!

I just did a lookup on the site name and found the following from this search http://whois.domaintools.com/debtdemolition.com.au:

Edit: Just deleted the text I'd quoted from the web page as I saw it said "domaintools exclusive". You'll have to click on the link but to cut a long story short it looks ok

Good initative by the club but to give the site and users a bit more incentive to donate it would have been a nice feature if users were allowed to create there own profile page and have the $ they have donated accompany there profile i.e Ryan has donated $50 to save the MFC

This way all that have donated are on display and being recognised for their contribution in a more formal manner it would have also created a bit of competition with supporters claiming to be the most passionate by being on display as donating the most $, an honour roll of top contributors to the debt demolition.

Anyways just a thought. I have donated $20 which is all I can afford this week and hope to donate more over the month.
