"Rumours abound that Australian Grand Prix chief Ron Walker will jump on board at Melbourne."

Nothing more than a rumour but I imagine that Crackers would be in the "inner sanctum" more than most of us.

I hate Walker with a passion.

Remember an NCA investigation involving a former Lord Mayor who was involved in hotels - also a Demons supporter?

edit

A good friend of mine died as a result of the pressure these blokes applied on her not to give evidence.

I will never forgive him and heckle him whenever I see him (makes him and the former Lord Mayor very uncomfortable).

He can sue my shiny white arse if he likes.

However

A) he won't get anything as I have nothing much of value; and

B) there are still a few people alive that will testify

A dead knight of the empire involved in transport was also heavily involved.

If Walker is involved at the club I know of at least 10 memberships (possibly more) that will not be renewed.

Who knows...he might have moe time with the demise of the GP. He certainly knows his way around that part of town and he is a real Deeman.

but really..wouldnt ya love Crackers to whack Hutchy one !! lol ( oops did I say that !!...I'm sorry!! )

Given that Jimma wants the board reduced in size..who would stand aside ?..and so soon. Might be warranted but wouldnt look too good. Needs to be done professionally if its true.

Walker has clearly been extremely effective in his Major Events and Grand Prix roles BUT he is not the sort of person I want at the MFC right now.

In my opinion, the public "face" of the MFC needs to be comprised of people who are effective, well-liked and have charisma. Such people will enhance the status/image of the MFC, attract supporters and unify the club. Jimmy and Chris are ideal for this.

Apart form these people, we need everybody else to be hard-at-it and effective behind-the scenes. Walker would need to be one of these but unfortunately he is not liked by many people and I can't see him staying out of the limelight. Like Jeff Kennett, he has a big ego and the media would always be onto him looking for a story..

With 30 000 members and god knows how many staff, theres a fair chance your not going to like everyone. Don`t be going anywhere mate - people are returning to the club because they know something is starting to happen.

Keenan is a fool, I'd want more evidence than his babbling to believe something was going to happen, he also hates the MFC which often clouds his judgement regarding us.

I guess he is at the 'Big end of town' so he may hold some value. Then again I find him hard to take seriously when he follows Bernie Ecclestein around like a lap dog, and don't get me started on his hair!

i understand this person may be someone you dislike, hate, or blame for events. he could be responsible for all of what you accuse him of.

however, buying a membership does not support ron walker it supports the mfc. it is different than say, not shopping at coles when you hate the CEO, because he directly benefits.

by refusing to buy a membership the only people you hurt are your fellow supports (and other members of our club, who need your help right now) and yourselves, because you loose the right to vote for who you want to be a director. (edit:) and the director does not benefit directly

I understand your point.

I think your analogy is off the mark though - the CEO would be benefitting (bonuses etc).

MelbourneFC directors don't benefit financially.

MelbourneFC directors don't benefit financially.

Ours don't but others' do - this is from this morning's Age:

Former Magpie executive Arocca said Collingwood usually sent at least six more staff on away trips than the Kangaroos. "They are quite capable of paying for six, seven or eight extra people. In some cases they will also send directors and send them business class."

The extra staff were usually strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and massage therapists, he said.

Instead of sending club staff, poorer teams often go without services or source casual and volunteer physios and massage therapists in the city they are visiting.

There's something sick about the financial model of this "competition" when Clubs like ours need volunteer match day staff like Garry Marchant and Karen to pay their own fares to interstate games while Clubs like Collingwood fly Directors and partners - up the front thank you very much!!!

yeah sorry i think my grammar was poor. thats what i was tring to say - you can boycot a supermarket because the ceo benefits, in the case of the mfc, the directors dont gain or lose if you dont sign up as a member.

This persons actions are far worse than anything Ben Cousins has done - Cousins has been banned "for bringing the game into disrepute"

If the NCA had not been folded because of political pressure he would certainly not been held in the high esteem he is by "the top end of town". F1 racing is great if you like Nazi themed parties.

I could not support the club financially while such a person who brings the game into disrepute is at the helm.

I would jump straight back on once he left.

i didnt mention cousins.

but what i am saying is that by jumping off you dont have a right to argue who should be running the club. you lose your right to vote.

Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
