Juice, what now?

He hasn't appeared on an injury list this season yet he states that he had a knee then a hamstring problem and rumours abound of a rift with the coach and a poor attitude.

Does anyone know why he is not playing this weekend?

I am not really a conspiracy theorist but it seems there is a distinct lack of information coming out about this particular player. Why?

He is named in the Sandy twos

This is strange but Ricky Petterd is named as part of the interchange for the reserves. It suggests possibly that there might be a doubt over his fitness. The fact that Newton's not there suggests that he's unfit for one reason or other (I suppose that's pretty obvious isn't it?)

SANDRINGHAM v PORT MELBOURNE (Reserves)

Sunday 22nd June

Trevor Barker Beach Oval at 11:10 AM

SANDRINGHAM

Backs Cannon Curcio Sargent

Half backs Plymin Shakaib McNamara

Centreline Hine McConnell Kondarovskis

Half forwards Hardiman Cleeve Lyall

Forwards Lockwood Zomer Weetra

Followers Spencer Williams Fleming

Interchange (from) Dean Eaton Gribbin Liddell Monaghan Petterd Summons Torcasio

This was taken from the thread re sandys teams this week. No newton. Is this incorrect? Demonland posted it????

Chinese whispers that has had a massive snowball effect. Unless anyone here is in the inner sanctum then it is all just idle gossip. However it would be nice of the club occasionaly kept us up to speed on such things.

My mistake... I thought I read that he was in the twos

I have it on good authority that even though Newton did not get named for either Sandy side this week, that he will actually play in one of the teams.

I don't know where to go with him. You would think he would need at least the last 10 or so rounds to prove he still deserves a spot, and even then he has to play well... I'm beginning to see a Juice-less future ahead.

On the bright side, I LOVE that DB is selecting players on merit alone, not on the basis of what position they play. You'd hate to be Buckley or Valenti, who've earned a spot, and see Juice jump straight into the team because we "need" a tall forward.

It send all the right messages for our future and encourages work ethic over EVERYTHING.

It appears his form over the last 2 weeks has been better. Is the hard line being taken by Bailey working? It appears so. Will he get recalled this week or does he need to perform well for 1 or 2 more weeks for Sandy? The coaches are going to have to give him some senior time soon if they intend perservering with him. Some attitude problems probably still exist so what to do??

He kicked four in a loss to North Ballarat yesterday.

I think it's time for some Juice.

So He played and the results were mixed. Took some good grabs, kicked poorly, failed to back into a player and spoil and was probably not hard enough at the ball. I would imagine the coaching staff would be working on 2 things. 1. His kicking. 2. His attack on the footy. It's like he doesn't realise that he's quite a big lad. He needs to be forced into some really strong competitive work at training and get used to slamming into blokes ala Nick Riewoldt. He has a fine mark and if he had the courage to leep into packs he could be quite damaging as a forward. He's going to take time so you all need to be patient and back him to suceed. Yelling out as some of you do at the footy that he's soft and a dud is probably not going to help.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
