Does anyone know any other commentators that barrack for who?

I know Dennis Commetti- Melbourne supporter.

I thought Denis was a WCE supporter ( I know he is a big Robbo fan)

Anthony Hudson - Geelong

Andrew Maher - Carlton

Mike Sheahan - Melbourne

Caroline Wilson - Richmond

Tim Lane - Carlton

Peter Landy - Hawthorn

Drew Morphett - Carlton I think

Eddie McGuire - need I answer

Francis Leech - Stkilda

Mark Fine - StKilda

Bruce McAvaney - Neutral

honestly mate if u dont know who Robert Walls barracks for then u must never watch the footy.

that knobjockey has the uncanny ability of bringing his team into the commentary at every opportunity, it actually makes me sick

You will notice I did not include any past players or coaches. I am sure Caro goes for Rich - not Melbourne.

Bruce mcavaney- not sure to be honest if he is an essendon supporter

Example why i think he is bombers supporter

"Laycock LUCAS LUCAS GOAL! THE BOMBERS HAVE DONE IT, UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!"

"RAMA HES GOT THIS ONE!!"

Bruce is actually an Adelaide supporter (But he loves Essendon).

Commetti IIRC doesn't follow an AFL club, I think he follows a club in the WAFL.

caro wilson goes for melbourne

Caro's blood is black and yellow.

I would have thought Quartermain was a Saints supporter...

I do love SEN, but I think most of them go for the Saints.

Quarters is definitely a Hawthorn man.

Is he? I was sure from the Saints final he was a Saints man... but fair enough. No wonder he's got a smile on his face these days.

Thanks doggo

caro wilson goes for melbourne

lol...very tongue in cheek !! :lol::blink:

Dennis Commett has been quoted that he does not follow any clubs, but has a soft spot for Melbourne.

As a child in WA he followed Melbourne and his favourite player was Big Bob Johnson...He has mentioned this quite a few times in broadcasts

Tony Jones - Collingwood

Craig Hutchinson - St.Kilda

Mark Robinson - Essendon

I think you'll find that Dennis Cometti is Freo, following on from East Freo. Bruce is Adelaide, and Craig Hutchison is a Geelong supporter.

On 3AW after the Melbourne v WB game this year, Dennis Cometti said those were the two clubs he has bought memberships for. I'm not sure whether he barracks for either though...

Caroline Wilson is a Richmond supporter - her father was president of the club for more than a decade.

Dennis Cometti played reserves for Footscray, so if he has a leaning it is to the Dogs, very big West Perth supporter here in the WAFL.

From ABC Perth Glenn Mitchell is Carlton supporter

Graham Smokey Dawson is Hawthorn

Gerard Whatley Geelong

Dan Longergan Western Bulldogs

The Late Wally Foreman was West Coast, his last AFL broadcast was the 06 Eagles win

Rob Waters ?

Quentin Hull, you'd suspect Brisbane

Peter Donegan ?

There's a few. Cheers

I've read that Cometti has a leaning to melbourne but not sure why that's so. could only think that because he barracked for west perth -- when they had the brilliant name the cardinals, since changed to falcons (yawn) -- he was attracted to our colours. of course, there's a reason for him liking the dogs, having played reserves for them. but he's always admitted a soft spot for robbo & I detected some real angst in the first half against freo -- he was kind of willing us on, although that could have been as much for the sad state of the team in that first half. thank god someone among the commentators has some passion for us!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
