Gee they still great songs to listen to after all these years. One of my first singles I bought with my own pocket money was 510 Man, not sure if it was the a or b side.

Chippy interested to know what were the premium wines on offer?

Interesting to see that Tony has dropped into see Rupert today, no doubt to receive further orders. Look out ABC, Fairfax and anti siphoning laws, we are in for a big News Limited ride. AfL, Olympics,

Sounds like Jimmy T has a lot of work to do! Tapscott needs to develop his outside game, apparently. Blease still having brain fades. Oh well our depth is very limited with so many first and second rounders we have on our list, either injured or not getting a game.
-
But we probably would have if we could have!
-
Yes Roos has already called it as a stuff up. Jamar wasn't injured. Can't get them all correct I suppose. Probably wanted to have a good look at Max maybe?

Thanks DC very surprised to see it in the honours list on Monday while I was flicking through the Hun just before the match started. The people around me were wondering why I was cheering before the first bounce! Yes it is not what you do, it is who you know in these important matters. I mean one can't be handing out these sorts of gongs to the wrong type of chap, after all.

Great comedian, loved the young ones and Bottom but gee looking at those early shorts from the young ones of Rik I am reminded of Christopher Pyne at his ludicrous best or worst depending on your point of view. Pyne must have modelled himself on a young Rik I think.

Well at least with today's presser with Tony and the "Canadia" president Harper, Tony has nailed his colours to the mast. He is a spuiker for the coal industry, no more, no less. At least he has come out of the closet even though he is still dribbling on about the dangers of climate change but you just wouldn't want to do anything about it, you just hope Greg Hunt can talk his way through it and it all goes away. It's a bit like if Tony was facing a firing squad but had the opportunity to bribe the squad to use blanks, but decides to make some savings so he just manages to bribe half the firing squad. Tony would actually believe that is money well spent with a demonstrated efficiency dividend! But that is to paint him as some Forrest Gump like buffoon which was my most benevolent assesment. However in my mind he has now crossed over into the realms of real evil. I have said before this guy is a dangerous ideological force against progress. I see no reason to change my thinking. Tony is not just an embarrassment he is both ignorant and dangerous it now seems on a global scale.

And big Max needs to take them because he is a liability at times when the ball hits the ground. Heis not great below his knees and is slow chasing the opposition. To keep his place he will just have to hold the marks he gets first hands to.

WELCOME BACK TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - NEVILLE JETTA
Earl Hood replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
To me he lacked clean hands early on but Bailey said his attitude was second to none to be the best he could, so I always had failth. He has had continuous injuries but has finally got a good run at it. He won't ever be a star but Intjink he can play a great role out of the back pocket. Go Neville -
Whoops looks like another sub stuff up. They did not announce it at the MCG so was wondering who was off when JKH missed a mark down back, late in the third. Looked around and realised Jamar wasn't there. At that stage I thought big Max was costing us with his lack of mobility. He did work his way back into the game but I still don't believe we can carry him in any other role than ruck.

If Pedo could kick 60 rather than just the 50 metres we would have had another 3 goals I think. He was accurate each time but couldn't get the distance.

What I find interesting after attending today's game was seeing up close, at times when it was near me, what the umpires don't pay and what they do. The umpires weren't paying much and I generally like that but then they would pick out something when they didn't need to and you wonder why? There was the so called deliberate kick out of bounds, the ignoring of Elliot's high flying when the ball was no where near him, ignoring Clokes holding but pinging Dunn when he did, ignoring what was happening to Dawes in the contests but then paying a soft contest to Beams right in front when there was no chopping of the arms in the contest, which they weren't paying that day anyway.....I can go on and on. It didn't cost us the game but it is frustrating. My point is that the AFL, commentators and fans get in a tizz over the lack of goal camera technology. The idea that a ball may go thru for a goal and we don't know for sure whether it was touched or hit the post is a huge problem that may decide games and so. But really tight games are decided much more often by umpiring decisions up the field every week. And the fact interpretations change from week to week.

What was Garland's role today, he was generally playing half back I think but didn't seem to be an integral part of the backline that he should be.

Interestingly all the players take it out in front at the training I have been to this year (about 5 sessions) particularly Frawley. So it was odd to see that today except from Salem who is raw.

I know that but they, as in Collins Street types, are usually and have proven over the decades to be a bunch of tight arses. What will open their wallets now unless we could offer a knighthood or similar.

I still want to know who is in Collins Street that we need to tap into?

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
Earl Hood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jane I really think you should have thought about the holistic situation before you committed to this marriage. Yes he is your stepson and you are not responsible for his poor life choices but really you should have demanded a conversion to the MFC as part of the nuptial agreement. I am not a zealot just a realist Jane! -
A bit confused but still have an open mind. What's in Collins Street that we need to tap into? The Melbourne Club. And Casey is too far away from The Gee I agree but are we making any friends out there? If not I agree let's realign with some VFL team closer to home. I don't believe you necessarily have to have a stand alone VFL side, can't see the difference myself. Hasn't held the Hawks back. But there is a tyranny of distance with the Casey alliance.

I agree Baghdad we wouldn't have grabbed Jetta at the time but I wonder how much due diligence we were doing between 2007 and 2010 under BP. I would have been happy for Barry to just have read Emma Quayle's thoughts on the top 20, we would have done better that way than whatever due diligence he did.

Nutbean I am still trying to deconstruct the latest goings on with Turnbull, Andrew Dolt and Alan Jones! Is it all a diversionary tactic to avert people's attention from the stinking turd that is Joe's budget? That is my thinking, Dolt and Jones are running interference for Tony. Malcolm is expendable and can look after himself of course. But it is a high risk strategy that could set up a permanent destabilising mindset while Malcolm is around. But gee Abbott looks more and more like Forrest Gump who somehow found himself in the top job for all the wrong reasons and committed to all the wrong policies! I would love to be a fly on the wall when he meets Obama and the discussion turns to climate change!
