  1. We wouldn't be giving up much for him at all.... a big yes from me. Body is as cooked as Jaegar O'Meara - it's about getting it right and a bit of luck.
  2. And we lost to Carlton and Essendon. they beat Adelaide in Adelaide. They're midfield goes okay....
  3. Sanderson would only be with us for 1-2 years...he wants a senior gig
  4. Re my previous post: i will put my neck out GNF style and say that if Tom Mitchell is playing at the Swans next year, I will never post on here again
  5. This guys is seriously rated by Swans - they cannot afford to keep him though without losing a JPK, Jack, Heeney, Mills, Parker...not to mention Tippett and Buddy on huge deals. Ala Mumford in recent times, something/someone decent has to give. I have it on good authority he is leaving the Swans - AFLPA friend works with his old man (who does stuff for AFL) and has showed me texts from him saying that he just can't stay at Swans with what he's getting offered elsewhere. He will probably/could potentially win a flag, so not a bad way to go out. If we get him - it would be huge!
  6. Where's GNF? I'm not try to be facetious, but is he still coming to the Dees?
  7. Gee - if you watched the Showdown tonight, you'd take that back. Wines is an absolute GUN
  8. I find all this talk about the next Captain pretty offensive and irrelevant whilst our current Captain is 27 years old....and doing a fine job. If anyone deserves to lead this team, and take us up the ladder, it's Jonesy
  9. Expecting the classic Demonland backlash, but word is that McDonald has been offered a very nice package from Swans. They're planning for life after Grundy/Richards. Person well-connected in Sydney who is friends with Tom Harley has said that their view is he has verbally agreed. McDonald's management were made an offer mid season and told them that if Melbourne did not match that client would be likely. Going from the new MFC approach of paying people what they're worth, it would seem that if Tom has bigger offer (considerably bigger by sounds of things) then he's out. Nothing to do with lack of direction from MFC, Swans have played finals 14 of last 16 years. If it eventuates, I wonder what it would be? I'd take Aliir Aliir and a pick for McDonald (but chances are they wouldn't want to part ways with Aliir given they'd be losing another defender). Tom Mitchell linked with move to VIC but only Hawks/Carl/Ess in the media. If true, I'm throwing Hurley lots of $$$$. They way I view it: if the net gain is Hurley for McDonald, we've upgraded. We shall see what unfolds in the next month.
  10. Don't know how much you've watched of Hoskin-Elliot but he's already a better player than Morton. Would take him in a heartbeat. Xfactor and offers something we don't have. Small player that is a good overhead mark like a Jamie Elliot or Fasolo.
  11. would not be trading kent - he's young and our best small forward. Jay Kennedy Harris and 1st rounder would do it
  12. Spencer has yet to prove himself as a forward option in an AFL game - closest thing was game down at Cattery last year. Vardy has proven on mulitple occasions of playing at AFL level in both positions. He (Vardy) has now played 6 or 7 games in a row in the VFL starting to get continuity into his body and is younger and better than Spencer. If it was for a third or fourth round draft pick i'd be jumping at it. Our ruck stocks are EXTREMELY low, and having spoken to someone at the club I know that we will be going after a back-up ruckman/fwd player to help provide a chop-out for Gawn. As usual on DL, I will get hosed down for what this conversation entailed, but there were no mentions of players - just that we needed a "Tippett" fwd/pinch ruck player; Vardy is one that screams this to me that could come cheap.
  13. big men should never be judged on disposals. hitting scoreboard and providing ruck relief in this case, yes. missed pre-season so stats dont look great but serving a role for MFC next year if fit could be worth the punt. Look at Gawn
  14. I live in Geelong and have watched him on numerous occasions this season...wouldn't exactly say he's struggling - can't get a run in the seniors behind Smith, Stanley, Blicavs and Hawkins
  15. Tom Mitchell? Despite my dislike for Tom Mc, but acceptance that he just needs another defender around him, i would not be opposed to getting a young gun like Tom Mitchell. And before anyone hoses me down saying we have enough mids - you can never have enough mids (HF and HB are called 5th and 6ths these days - they are just as much mids as those in centre bounce or 'inner circle' at a stoppage).
  16. Along with a Key Defender to help T-Mac, the foward/ruck position is one that needs serious addressing at this club. Vardy would be cheap and an excellent option to help out fwd line and give Gawny a chop-out. Injury history, yes, but worth the punt. Spencer is not the option and is only required if Gawn was to get injured again. Dawes is done. Pedo I'm happy with but doesn't seem to get a look in, and our young talls are unknown or just forwards. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/subscribe/news/1/index.html?sourceCode=HSWEB_WRE170_a_TWT&mode=premium&dest=http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/nathan-vardy-could-look-at-trade-options-as-rival-clubs-make-inquiries/news-story/882e1d13f9550c6b4b5dd057fc6df87b&memtype=anonymous
  17. tackle count is always important. shows intent and desire to win the ball. adelaide smacked us in the count yesterday, and no coincidence that we've lost count in all games we've lost.
  18. Have you seen Oscar McDonald? Frost has more upside - yes he makes errors, but we could talk about both McDonalds all day regarding their disposal and decision-making.
  19. and it would be seem that our trajectory seems better than Richmond's...but all the optimists need to realise we have won the same number of games as them this season. I have faith that we are a better prospect for Dion, but the tigers may have other recruits in pipeline that a long with Dion can help Martin, Cotchin, Rance and Riewoldt (better a graders than ours) up the ladder.
  20. Point is: money talks.... Ablett walked into a team of nobodies that were going to take years to get success (which has been proved) and before anyone tells me GWS have got success - they havent done anything and it's their 5th season, and they were given two years of free hits in draft, not one like GC
