  1. This is brilliant news and means we could rookie Hendo. FWIW, it means Yze misses and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. F/S can be picked up beyond 18yo...
  2. Having spoken to a Werribee coach about Hendo missing, he said it was between Johnson and Hendo. Said we can be VERY excited about Johnson, who comes into a full time environment with plenty of room for improvement and stops bending over/working all day as a tradie. Said he is an absolute brute who can play forward in the AFL almost straight away.
  3. We have 4 rookies (Verrall, Sestan, Hore, Brown) plus AMW (cat B) and then Kentfield (MSD Rookie). Max is 6 cat A and then 2 cat b... Ricky Mentha might count as a cat b/nga?
  4. very disappointed - I'm sure Johnson will be great but shattered for Jack
  5. Seems that way - but I'd rather take Jack Henderson. Can take Riak Andrew as a rookie and the possibility of White next year F/S.
  6. Looking unlikely now according to the man himself given we picked two mids with picks 6 and 11. Here's hoping we still pick him
  7. Can anyone confirm if Windsor is full training or injured/rehab grouP?
  8. Yes - as discussed in the pick 79/83 thread. Really hoping we pick him...
  9. With Carlton taking Draper, there is no chance we get Langford. Seems to me like if North take Tauru early, we will be choosing between O'Sullivan and Reid.
  10. Watch out for Jack Henderson. Werribee VFL - won the BoG medal in GF that Mannagh won. We interviewed him (Geelong the other) and he said it went really well. I hope we get him!
  11. Love the work you've done here, but when you have two top 10 picks, you go best player in the draft. So if there are players better than Tauru, he won't be picked then.
  12. Is this on website? Where are you looking? As Smith has definitely not been delisted given the pending investigation/final list lodgment is not until mid novemeber.
  13. 32 on Senior List (people forgettng Joel Smith has not been delisted (yet)). So you'd think: - 2 spots for pick 5 and 9 - 2 spots for McVee and AMW (Rookie upgrade) If Smith gets delisted, then either a pick at PSD or another rookie upgrade (Kynan Brown)?
  14. which assistant coach? A melbourne one? Casey?
  15. I make it that we have 33 on the list now - with Tomlinson and Joel Smith (who everyone seems to have forgotten about) probably going...so could leave 31-32. So with only 2 picks, seems we would upgrade two of our rookies (McVee and AMW?) as minimum on senior list is 36. Unless we are doing some more deals today to get in more picks...
  16. I do. Because Brisbane don't have a top 5 pick. Thus our pick 5 becomes pick 6 if someone in first 5 bids on him (which they will). I'm not sure you really get whats happening...
  17. Not a chance that someone doesn't bid on Ashcroft. He is the best player in the draft
  18. Please remember this is likely pick 6 and 10 after Levi Ashcroft gets to Brisbane, and possible other academies could push pick 10 out as well.
  19. @Moonshadow hits the nail on the head. Couldn't help but think about this yet again last night. And before I get shot down, please don't talk about 'effort'. The club's "we fought to the end" social media post at FT just about sums us up. It's picking and choosing - that isn't sustained or consistent, 4 qtrs of effort, as that would suggest we fought the whole game. We didn't. Time to actually get serious - which I give the club credit for doing in their pursuit of May and Lever. Hibberd was also a fine recruit. Melksham has also turned out to be excellent - but apart from that, we have been devoid of any astute recruiting. It's time to make the hard calls. Not up to it: - Schache - McAdam - Billings - Laurie Hasn't come on: - Bowey (some injuries, yes) - Sparrow (too one dimensional) - Chandler (signs a new deal and then shows flashes/hasn't played well since). Trade potential: - Salem (thanks for your wonderful service and a flag, but injuries and health have taken over) - Fritsch (rarely applies pressure - all the talent in the world, but hollywood) Oliver is a must keep. Absolute generational mid who had no pre-season, all the off field issues, broke his hand when he shouldn't have been playing, kept playing when he shouldn't have. Positives: - McVee and Rivers have kept going and will be super - Woewodin has shown enough to get some more game time (stunted as the super sub too often) - Windsor and Tholstrupp - JVR only his 2nd year (people assume he's a 4th/5th year player) - Oliver and Trac still under 30. - Moniz-Wakefield looks hungry and ready Gawn and May are now 32. Viney nearly 30. Time to get serious.
  20. Never a truer post posted... Honestly. When will this club wake up and realise that the last few years have been abject failures?!?!?! The recruiting has been nothing short of disgraceful. You could also argue that the Bowey/Laurie draft has not delivered. So other than some good drafting, we have been woeful. This list deserved better management
  21. Anyone spotted Jed Adams at pre season training?? Yet to see him/hear about him - even last week when it was just 1- year players
  22. Also, if Melksham is moved onto a rookie contract, frees up another spot
  23. OUT: Hibberd, Dunstan, Jordon, Harmes, Grundy, Smith (Rookie) IN: Fullarton, McAdam Draft picks currently: x 3 (One could be used to upgrade McVee) So we have 3 senior spots left
