  1. Don’t understand the fascination with Port on here. My prediction: mid list, replaced here by the Tigers
  2. I prefer Hunt for Jordon
  3. I’m inclined to agree. Based on Wednesday, l think Bedford has far more class and speed. If they play, Tmac goes down back. (Interesting he commented yesterday that he hoped he is not forgotten as a back) and he shouldn’t be either given his recent form, then l think it would be time to unleash the Weid. If he gets back to top form would be a huge bonus for us.
  4. and Jones.....
  5. Dont think any of our Leadership Group are bashful when it comes to those sort of conversations, No-one will die wondering is my guess.....
  6. Taylor is a moron. Perhaps CH7 is at last waking up and starting to squeeze him out, although they are taking their time about it. Bradshaw is certainly and improvement. the other thing about Taylor is that he is so often factually wrong, and lacks the strategy sophistication of say Daisey, who is exceptional in that area. I really hope they give Daisy a meaningful job next year eg coach the women's team and work with yze on the mens strategy area, with a view to her becoming an assistant coach with specific game day responsibility. She is a senior coach in the making - maybe even Goody's successor one day!
  7. If these quotes are true (and it certainly sounds like him) then he is the "entitled" pain in the neck that that many think him to be - the worst sort of private school [censored] (I know I was at school with many of them). I was a strong supporter of Morris before this came out, thinking he was protecting the freedom of the Press. Now I suspect there is far more to this story than initially meets the eye. As much as I hate to say it, Bevo may have a point. Hopefully, truth will out. If these recordings are true of Morris, then he has not place in the media, and should be taken off the air immediately.
  8. Morris is doing his job. He is a journo after all - their job is to find out stuff others are trying to hide but others have an interest in finding out. It has always been thus. The AFL as a community can be incredibly precious sometimes...... 9
  9. Serves me right for writing these posts in the middle of the night, and then not proof reading properly. Surprised there weren't others who corrected this. There is usually no shortage of pedantic posters on here,,,,,,,,,
  10. I agree, but it is a manor from heaven for an ambitious investigative journalist, albeit a sporting one. Journos who break news are those who sell papers, and this makes morris a lot more famous than he was yesterday. It also demonstrates why Breaveridge clearly does not understand the Press. For Morris it is just like getting a giant promotion. Good on him for doing his job......
  11. Yes, I think you are right. Beavo is starting to realise that the MFC will be his beate noir for the rest of his coaching career. I'm sure it is a realisation that he cant abide and like all good "Trumpists", the tactic is always to create a distraction, and i can see this one (or a variation thereof) being the standard issue when when we continue to defeat them in the future. It will be fun to watch.......
  12. I disagree, Beveridge, although he played for the Dees, has mostly had a terse relationship with us, I think because we usually "best" him and his Bulldogs. I bet he would not have reacted this way to a Carlton, Essendon or Geelong.
  13. I enjoyed it that he is so rattled and clearly doesn't understand what a leg up it gives us that he is so publicly displaying it Be interesting to see how the rest of the competition reacts. I predict it will bring out the worse sort of class warfare from the Pies, Dons, PA, Cats and Freo. There is an underlying resentment in some that we are back as a powerhouse. I hope not but I fear it will be so....
  14. Sorry, try “surge”. Serves me right for not proof-reading it. Carlton seems to be popping up everywhere!
  15. Perhaps it was the lapse we had to have. Better now than second half of season. There needs to be urgent attention tho to penalties. One of the things about last year was our iron discipline when it came to playing the game. These lapses were very unlike last year’s side. I have no doubt the hierarchy will sort it out. But it certainly needs urgent attention. Not our brand at all!
  16. The frees were there: it is more our arrogance and I’ll discipline l reckon. I hope it is not indicative of the rest of the year…
  17. So far, a very ordinary performance. I can accept we can be out played on occasions. What l can’t accept is ill discipline and just plain stupidity. We were out played in that quarter, but gave away two goals through unbelievable idiocy, from Viney and then HARMES. That is just unacceptable. The other question l would ask is what happened to our legendary pressure. Almost non existent. I suspect a GF hangover, but l fear complacency. they all should be getting a giant rocket from goody after that!
  18. I never said we would never be defeated again. That is absurd. No doubt you said it in jest. I agree we may well struggle against the Blue in view of those who are not playing, but l somehow doubt it. I think we will win by 30 points or more. The Blues are still pretenders. The rest of your post is not even worth refuting. I do not believe in personal abuse on-line, and it is rarely seen on Demonland. Clearly you have snuck thru the controls.
  19. Sorry, l think this is nonsense for several reasons: 1. we beat everyone in the top 8 last year, usually by big margins. None of those players are going away and our game plan is better than anyone’s: 2. We have improved our replacements, and many players who would walk into almost all other sides will miss out on our best 22 eg Smith, Dunstan, Hunt, Dawe, Weideman. There is considerable upside on our list considering it’s youth and talent eg Jackson; and 3. this means of course we have ready-made replacements in the wings should there be injuries or lack of form; Whilst most clubs will say this at this time of year, we are in a very very strong position to go back to back , and internal competition and our elite coaching staff will ensure there is no complacency. We shall see, but l will be delighted to repost this at the final siren in September when we win our second in a row, this time at the mighty MCG.
  20. Think u might be spot on. Always thought that Bowy will lose his place when someone bigger with equivalent skills comes along. In the longer term ie later this year, l think Hunt is the ideal replacement.
  21. I think we had it just about right last season, we were almost non affected by Covid by putting strict disciplines in place to minimise it. I’m sure we will follow similar this year with hopefully similar outcomes. It is imperative we take no notice of the outliers who appear to want to ignore it. fortunately we don’t appear to have any of those unlike some other clubs (eg Carlton)
  22. What about Dunstan?
  23. Agree re Scot - she looks old and a bit slow, although still hard at the contest. Since the game is being played at Fremantle, it will be fast and tough, just as the freo/crows game was this week. We will need to be on our game to win, it is fast and furious over there. This week’s game in Perth was the best AFLW game l have seen and at a very high standard, not something you can always say about AFLW. It should suit our style, but we will need to bring our best.
  24. Yes, wonder whether they can replicate the boys and go to the top in the last home and home game of the season, but hopefully not on their last kick. must say tho this has many of the hallmarks of men’s MFC circa 2021. Let’s hope so anyway.
