  1. Facebook, I tried up loading the photo but it won’t let me on my phone.
  2. Just saw it on FB. Just said “Got what he deserved”.
  3. Petracca’s response is priceless.
  4. A few years back I think before the 2004 GF, Jonathan Brown was charged with rough play after putting someone in a headlock than swinging them to the ground and landing on them with his body, ultimately a stupid, dangerous and thug act. A Lions member who was also a lawyer contacted the club and told them to argue he couldn’t be charge with rough play as play had technically stopped because it was 3/4 time. He was free to play, this is a prime example why sport’s tribunals need to be run differently from courts of law.
  5. Ah, I see you know your judo well.
  6. You never miss a trick DS.
  7. If you think that a Tasmanian team won’t face player retention issues stemming from lack of team success and players not wanting to live there then I don’t think you’re being honest with yourself. I’m happy that Tasmania is getting a team but not as a 19th team, the competition can’t sustain 19 or 20 teams at the moment. The AFL thinks the revenue from the broadcast deals is the answer to everything. We currently have the last two expansion clubs struggling on and off the field as well as North, Hawthorn and the Eagles struggling on field. The Suns should fold allowing Tassie to become the 18th team, GWS stay for now only because they’re playing some home games In Canberra. Depending on what plays out in the future the AFL could also fold GWS and look to put an extra team in either in S.A or W.A. You’re not the only person to live / have lived in Tassie, I get that you’re passionate but that doesn’t automatically make you right.
  8. In some ways we’ve had the luxury of experimenting with our line up but I think we’re a better side defensively with Petty down back. The synergy between our defenders makes us difficult to score against. Lever has developed his game to become a better one on one defender but when on, his intercept game is massive for us. We are still yet to play Geelong, both Cameron (33 goals) and Hawkins (23 goals) are in good form so far this season, we will most likely need to beat them in the finals if we are to win it. I think we will struggle to contain them with Petty fwd. I agree with your comments regarding scoring differential. We were slow to come to the party of quick ball movement and lacked avenues to goal. Moving Kosi into the midfield for stints on ball and Chandler up fwd not only mixes things up it makes us less predictable.
  9. After 8 rounds we are currently 2nd for PF (points for) 862 Geelong currently 6th) 859 Melbourne (currently 2nd) 809 Lions (currently 4th) 766 Bombers (currently 9th) 721 Crows (currently 10th) 702 Pies (currently 1st) In 6 games Petty has only kicked 2.1, as we know our accuracy has greatly improved as well as the emergence of Chandler 13.2 from 7 games and JVR 10.2 from 5 games. How much has Petty playing fwd has contributed to our attack? Not nearly as much as his absence in defence. 4th for PA (points against) 474 Saints (currently 3rd) 579 Pies (currently 1st) 619 Dogs (currently 7th) 621 Melbourne (currently 2nd) Sitting 4th for PA doesn’t sound so bad at face value but when you go further down the list you have number of teams not far of the pace. 632 Carlton 634 Richmond 635 Geelong 663 Lions 667 Crows 676 Port 677 Suns 689 Freo 690 Swans Over the last 2 seasons we’ve been the no.1 defensive team, whilst it’s only rd 9 the rest of the competition in catching us. When we play the likes of Geelong and Carlton we can’t rely on just playing May & Lever or bring in Tomlinson / Turner for a cameo. Petty needs to return to the backline to bring stability back, as an example had that been the case against the Suns the game wouldn’t of been as close as it was (yes I’m aware we were smashed at clearances)
  10. With our list anything but top 4 would be not be good.
  11. Brisbane’s weakest link is their back line yet the so called twin towers could only manage 2 goal’s between them. Suddenly 9 against the Eagles doesn’t sound so good.
  12. Not sure why anyone tipped Carlton. Their last 3 were losses to the Crows and Saints and a win over the Eagles.
  13. If the Ellis tackle was paid as holding the ball, then there were at least 3 in that passage of play not paid.
  14. I watched the last 3/4 of the tigers / suns game last week. The Suns were ordinary and the Tigers even worse. will be disappointed if this is a close game.
  15. All of his points are very valid.
  16. Will we see the introduction of a reverse COLA allowance, a COSA, cost of staying allowance.
  17. So currently we have the two most recent expansion clubs struggling on and off the field. Relying heavily on AFL funding to survive, low memberships, a concerning trend of quality players requesting a trade at seasons end, stuck in the bottom half of the ladder for what seems like eternity and last season we had the Suns trading Jack Bowes and pick 7 to Geelong to ease salary cap pressures. Who exactly and how much are they paying these players to find themselves in this position? I thought I read years ago that clubs that were in these positions had an AFL appointment accountant assigned to them to try and avoid these situations. In addition we have Hawks : Intentionally tanking over 2-4 year period to cash in before Tassie’s draft concessions come into play. North : Less than six months ago they were a Clarko signature away from becoming irrelevant. Currently struggling in terms of their playing list. W.C.E : In addition to injuries they have an aging list and previous poor trades and starting to hurt them. I must be watching a different game if anyone thinks a 19th or 20th is a good idea for our competition. The argument that an extra game will generate X amount of extra funding is ridiculous, on average there will be 3-4 games a week not worth watching. What are the main reasons players are leaving the Suns and GWS? Are they home sick / family reasons? Do they not like where they’re living ? Or are they chasing success at a successful club? Possibly a combination of these things, but I think ultimately the latter. What makes so many people think player retention won’t be an issue for a Tasmanian team. I’m all for a team in Tasmania but another club must make way, 18 teams must be the maximum, we don’t have the population or talent to justify further expansion.
  18. Through the corridor, long, low and direct.
  19. Late in the game, 2 points in it, and they’re using the corridor and it’s paying off.
  20. So it’s only us that continually bombs it inside 50. Port and Saints one entry each and its low and direct all be it the port kick was off target.
  21. Why doesn’t the AFL do an anonymous survey of all current players and juniors aged 15-18 asking whether anyone would want to relocate to Tassie.
  22. I like the idea but the AFL don’t like admitting they got things wrong. The Dolphins have had more success in the first 8 weeks.
