Garbage decision, between the umpiring, the tribunal and the push for 19/20 teams the AFL is alienating fans at a rapid pace.
-
Port are overrated. Besides rd 1 when they jumped the Lions still haven’t put anyone away. Rd 1 smashed lions, lions clearly off their game Rd 2 they got smashed by the pies Rd 3 5 goal loss to the crows Rd 4 2 points over the swans Rd 5 14 over dogs, some bad umpiring in that game, sounds funny saying that against the dogs Rd 6 pump eagles big deal Rd 7 beat saints by 7 Rd 8 beat bombers by 5 Rd 9 pump north big deal Rd 10 beat Dees by 4, Dees were totally outplayed. No denying it, play 1 good qtr and nearly beat them. Rd 11 beat tigers by 10 after Dimma stood down Rd 12 pump hawks big deal Carn the Dogs.

I would think we want top 2.

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
When Daicos was supposedly targeted early in the season the Pies were in the media claiming nothing is being done than weeks later Daicos was cited and fined for striking (punching opponent in the stomach). I hope like hell we come switched and ready for the contest on Monday. -
My mates and I talking last night and they both agreed Collingwood and Port are the clear grand finalists at the moment, my reply…. I don’t see port Port as a clear favourite with the pies. Rd 11 beat tigers by 10 after Dimma stood down Rd 12 pump hawks big deal You can always argue you can only beat who your playing, and that’s a fair call. But after their rd 1 romp of the lions and back to back losses. They’ve beaten Swans 2 Dogs 14 Saints 7 Bombers 5 Dees 4 Tigers 10 team with no coach By a total of 42 points. A wins a win but not clear 2nd best team for me. A lot of those games could quite easily go each way. Good teams find ways to win but luck eventually runs out. After rd 1 and the eagles, north and hawks they haven’t put anyone away which is a concern. Finals is a different game. I would also add they have Collingwood feel about them in the way they play but also continuing to win by small margins. Saints are currently 5th and lost to the hawks 2 weeks ago, that’s the kind of season it is. If we can win on Monday the whole narrative is turned upside down. If we can’t beat the pies without Howe, DeGoey and Sidebottom I will be extremely [censored] off.

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
My mate who lives in Melbourne and is a Pies supporter said he was listening to Nova this morning and Oliver was meant to do an interview but cancelled because was in hospital with his infected foot. Has anyone else heard this? Is this just a [censored] take? -
Only a week ago many were suggesting both he and JVR should be dropped / rested, now JVR got a rising star nomination and McVee his own thread.
-
Where do you sit Jaded?
-
Yes the Dogs should be in the conversation but not Essendon. As good as Adelaide has been I think this year is a stepping stone for them. Come the business end there will only be a handful of realistic challengers.
-
Beat Collingwood on Monday and everything is flipped on its head. All said and done we should really only be concerning our selves with win against 5 other clubs (Pies, Lions. Port, Cats, Freo)and so far we’re 0 from 3.

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Pendlebury is in last season and Daicos in his second. Tackle to hurt them both early. -
Also to be fair if the Pies beat Carlton last night by 17, it would be oh, the Pies have done it again. Flag favourites, no one can stop them.

Just finished watching the game, finished work late so thanks to KAYO. Well i’m in the minority because I enjoyed that. I think tonight we moved the ball quicker, used the corridor more, tried hitting up targets rather than just bomb it fwd and yes we missed a few. Started to slacken off in 2nd half and reverted to old ways. Fwds worked to create space for each other. Disappointing that for the first 6-8 weeks we were the most accurate side then tonight we kicked 8.13. Missing 10 set shots. ANB kicking a goal after putting himself front and centre, what a concept. Our fwds at times need to play in front more. Fritsch missed a couple early but finished strongly, love his marks. Was really impressed Sparrow, Rivers, McVee, Bowey, Salem and May. Petracca’s best game for the year, Kozi quiet again. Fast footy comes with turnovers but we defended really well.
-
Saw a Brownlow predictor yesterday that Petracca leading, not sure why as he’s hardly set this season alight. Big numbers in some games but far from his electric best. No reason he can’t dominate tonight.
-
Based on our last 2 weeks as well as other results ie Hawks over Saints every game is a danger game. I’m naively expecting a different looking Dees tomorrow night.
-
I like these changes, our fwd line has a Collingwood like feel to it, but in order for this to work and be effective we to change our delivery inside fwd 50. I’m expecting our pressure game to return tomorrow night as well. The addition of Thommo allows lever to get back to his natural game. Lets go Dees!

Just got off the phone to the club, I was successful getting 4 guest passes and 4 general admission tickets. If you had rang up last week or earlier and were put on the list you should also be good to go.
-
This years flag is there for the taking for an experienced talented list, like ours. Yet we’re still working out how not to get stuck in our back half and to deliver the ball inside fwd 50. You can’t make this stuff up.
-
Why are the pies better? Because they play that way now? Have you watched them play? They turn the ball over a lot but their opponents aren’t always able to hurt them going the other way. They defend well, but when they do have it they only bomb it inside 50 as a last resort. The way they play rattles a lot of sides plus their relentless pressure creates turnovers and opportunities. I’d like to see us play that way for the first 1/2 of every 1/4 next week. It doesn’t take a full preseason to change the way you play. If Leppitsch is going anywhere surely it’s as a senior coach. Have none of our coaches got any new ideas, are we unable to watch opposition games and make our own analysis? Are the Pies that skilful? Their best kick is arguably in his last season. Player for player, our list matches up quite well. Pies have also been struck with injuries this year but their system / gameplan holds up well, and yes there’s a bit of luck involved. We’re not going to find luck hugging the boundary line. I agree with bringing in another tall defender, I think once Petty returns he has to go back. We need to let Lever play his natural game. I’m not sure BB is the answer, if we don’t change the way we deliver into fwd 50 it won’t matter who’s playing up fwd. JVR has been given game time but have we given him the best chance to succeed. When going for a mark inside forward 50 he’s often competing against multiple defenders because our fwds don’t separate.

Trust In This Team
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Kieren from Canberra's topic in Melbourne Demons
Mihocek is the Pies KPF, a solid contributor but hardly a star. But the difference is the Pies know this and kick to his advantage. -
Disagree, they’ll murder us if we continue what we’ve been doing. We’ve got a defensive unit that can stop them but currently we won’t hurt them on the scoreboard. What would you have us do differently if anything?
-
If Goody was to get sacked after the Carlton game (purely as a hypothetical) and the interim coach said “ok we’ve got the pies this, let’s play them at their own game, let’s play with pace, run in numbers, hunt the opposition when the have the ball. Let’s play a smaller fwd line, let’s get it in quick, low and direct, let’s change the way we come out of the back half. Let’s leave Kosi / Fritsch isolated at times in the goal square and kick it to their advantage, let’s leave JVR one out and kick it in front of him instead of on top of him whilst Kosi and Chandler steam in from opposite pockets to anticipate the ball drop”. etc etc…. We’d almost wipe them and everyone would be saying where’s this been for the past 12 months. Goody is the coach and yes he built a lot of this team but we have a very stale feel about us currently. Why does it take a change of coach (most times) to change things up?
