That is what I take out of the season so far, we don’t seem unified. I wouldn’t call it selfishness, maybe individuals are trying too hard to be the ‘I need to do something to get us going’ type of thing. In 2021 we didn’t talk off the field, we just did. Early rounds of 2021 in a game against the Cats I remember we laid 6 tackles in the last 31 seconds of the game and we were up by 4-5 goals. This season we can barely pressure the ball carrier.

I hope we don’t set up to minimise the ‘damage’, screw that i say. We were well and truly in the game at 3/4 time on Sat night and to watch us sit back early in the last like the Italian national soccer team of the 90s defending a 1-0 lead was excruciating. The game was there to be won and we should’ve been attacking to win it. People pay a lot of money for memberships and to watch that was beyond frustrating. No wonder supporters are fed up.

I can’t stand rotations. Fritta gets some confidence back playing out of the goal square in the 3rd and jags a couple of quick ones then he’s taken off. Momentum stifled. Then he’s put up the ground again.

Nothing grinds my gears more than seeing the opposition win a ground ball off a stoppage in our defensive 50. Hobbs allowed to just waltz in the first time and miss, then minutes later he bobs up again with a goal. We are just getting killed all over the field when the ball hits the deck.

Are you suggesting Jeffo being on the ground solely to give JVR or Fullarton (if selected) a break then back off after they’ve had their 5 or so mins on the bench or ruck duties per quarter? Modern footy just does not work like that. No one is selected in the 22 to give players breaks. I could be misinterpreting what you’re saying though.

My question wasn’t directed at you so to speak, the term move player X to the bench is used a lot here and you just reminded me to ask the question. Your meaning of moving Jeffo to the bench is having him in the starting 23?

I’m curious, when people mention player ‘X’ on bench do they actually mean ‘bench’, like the good old days of sitting on the pine for 2 1/2 quarters? Cause there is no bench these days, players are on after 5 mins.
