		A Day at the Races

Just noticed the winner at Morphetville R2 was ridden by the trainer. Unless there are two Shayne Cahills out there. Nice divvy by the way.

Not a lot Wadda. In the end $1.65 fixed. Not sure if a higher price was on offer.

Yes, too classy, great front running display and never looked troubled Macca.

Decent price, yeah hard day coming up I feel, you and Macca didn’t leave me much choice. Liked the two you selected also. Despatch is a bit of risk at that price with a long layoff. They decided to give it a lengthy break after they gelded it. Maybe a complication followed but showed a lot of promise in two race starts. It’s not an overly strong field but I like the fact it is out of Written Tycoon and the McEvoy/Kah combination.

Best Bet. Morphetville R9 No. 5 Despatch. $2.90 Coming off a 65 week break but recent barrier trials have been impressive. Really struggled this week to find a “standout”.

A bit more of a search on him found he’s building a reputation as one of Australia’s leading form analysts. Will keep a keen eye out for his tips. Also, I noticed yesterday “Lite’n In My Veins” won around the $2.50 price.

That’s what I thought lol, but I edited my post after a quick google search, CEO of William Hill Australia currently.

Whatever happened to Tom Waterhouse? I remember him popping up on the telly late at night spruiking his own company. Edit: Maybe I should have gone through a google search prior to posting. He’s the CEO of William Hill.

Some interesting thoughts in that article. We might have to pick our “Best” in Tasmania or Northern Territory. Good insight by him on those states. I don’t know much about him Macca and have only seen him on the racing.com channel giving his selection before each race at the track he’s at. He does have a twitter account but unsure if he gives any tips out. Liked his best betting story also. Safe to say Atlantic Jewel was slightly above average.

		A Day at the Races

The race caller didn’t even realise Fanatic railed through on the final turn and bolted two lengths in front. It happened so quick, you could hear his surprise 100m upon straightening.

Lol, been out and about but always find time to jump on and have a sneaky look. Even managed to catch the cup on the phone. Fanatic didn’t give up at all, I thought Ormito had it the last 200m.

Had to watch the Newmarket replay twice then Macca. Once to watch the grandstand side only, twice to watch the far side. Terrific race though.

Proved very tricky today, Shillelagh just needed to run a place. 50 to 1 pop hey? It’s been fun today again and look forward to @Kumamoto_Ken joining the gang. Any late tips?

		A Day at the Races

Same here....disappointing run. I don’t think many horses have made up ground today from the back except Merchant Navy and Brave Smash.

		A Day at the Races

It was interesting to hear the jockey of Merchant Navy post race state that the horse lost sight of Redkirk Warrior and switched off a bit late in the race because the horses split to two sides.

		A Day at the Races

Some of the comments from the losing jockeys were priceless. Jockey of So Si Bon when asked after the race “ Na no good, horse needs to be gelded”. ? Edit: Craig Williams looked devastated to lose that race in his comments. A lot of praise for the horse but you could see he was gutted. I am a big fan of Craig Williams and his professionalism.

		A Day at the Races

Good work Macca, you might have to post one “Macca Tri Special” a week for us. That along with the “Wadda Quaddie”. Mixed reactions alright, it was a terrific race in the end. Still alive here with the system 3. Edit: I’ve also taken our Best bets in a place multi only just for a saver. I thought the place value for all was decent. Like you said, it’s about finding ways to make a profit.

I didn’t know where to look, Merchant was coming, then all of a sudden Brave Smash shows a scintillating turn of foot and looks the winner but the Warrior does it again. Stiff fellas.

Redzel returns to the winners list. Great win, I really liked the ride and tactics on Super Too, just go for it son and catch me if you can. They did but it hang on for a gallant 3rd. Edit: We are on in 5.

		A Day at the Races

Just watched the replay of the race. Did the horse get spooked? You’re right Macca, suddenly stepped sideways. That’s two falls today.

		A Day at the Races

Did anyone catch the latest on Jack Hill? He had a horrible fall in the first at Adelaide and layed motionless up to the time they turned their attention to Flem. I only caught a bit prior to the second race in Adelaide and I believe I heard he’s conscious and talking. Hoping all is well, the fall looked terrible.

		A Day at the Races

Heavily backed too, a work mate had all his multis centered around Portman, thought it was a “good thing”. It was caught a bit wide but disappointing all the same. The winner could have gone another lap without being run down. The Flemington track is a beauty on a sunny day. Quite picturesque.
