  1. Waking up to 0 degrees and getting into a car that resembles an igloo has never felt better.
  2. And he covered the most distance for us tonight, thought Viney was tenacious all night and moved a lot better Polly.
  3. Would love to borrow Spargo’s brain occasionally to get me out of a pickle with the lovely wife. His manoeuvre in and out of about 5 Port players and kick to an open Langdon on the outer wing in the last to set up a goal was sublime.
  4. Port had the better of us and put us under a lot of pressure early in the third but we showed fantastic composure and resilience to outscore them by the end of that quarter. A fantastic bounce back from last week. Petty was very good with some mammoth spoils and did Gus play with one eye working only? Thought I saw that shiner and closed eye as early as the 1st quarter, brave effort.
  5. Had the pleasure of playing with him in U13s at Keon Park. Wouldn’t pass the ball ever to a teammate and would jump on your head to mark it if he was anywhere near it. He was ten levels above everyone else though.
  6. No issue with how people viewed his game yesterday good or bad, but the blaming that he cost us the game was unjust IMO from what I heard leaving the ground. The move forward might not have worked but it certainly created a bit of a spark that we desperately needed. He’s proven in the previous two seasons that he can find the goals, I just wished he backed himself with that run and had a shot from 40 to a vacant square rather than stepping inboard and looking for an option.
  7. Some of the supporters walking out of the ground cursing and blaming Hunt have no idea about football I’m afraid. Utterly a more pathetic effort than the display of the team today. At least the coaches tried something with Hunt forward and Gus back in the last. It didn’t work but they had to do something. It tells you some of our forwards weren’t anywhere near it today. Untimely game was lost in the middle today.
  8. Sad thing is Hunt gave more in the last quarter up forward than Spargo, Pickett and ANB did the whole game and he gets pinned 3 times. Back yourself mate and have a shot at the end.
  9. Our midfield is getting smashed today, hoping for a repeat of Round 1 2016.
  10. Very entertaining game. Well deserved Suns.
  11. I’ll use that as a comeback to these ESS work colleagues that have been hammering me for 3 days straight regarding the umps. Forgot to mention they’re of the opinion Derm hates them in order to prove their point. Had to laugh when Tim Watson on 7 news last night said Essendon have resisted the urge to send a please explain to the AFL after Melbourne’s controversial win last Saturday night. Still struggling to see the controversy.
  12. 4 days later and those lovely ESS fans haven’t stopped the complaining. It doesn’t help when someone that dislikes them so much like Derm comes up with this beauty on SEN. It reads better if you pretend he’s taking the pizz out of them.
  13. Yep, this particular doc is only good for fake medical certificates. The only problem with ‘ignore’ is when someone quotes them often wsw. In the latter stages of 2018 this particular poster said in a game-day thread he would be going to the game and would not be happy even if we won that day. That says enough really.
  14. A bit of a brain fade there but loved how he didn’t go looking for somewhere to hide. Regained composure with a goal shortly afterwards and followed up with a nice shepherd for Spargo to get clear to score a goal. Love how we protect the ball carrier this year, something I thought we were lacking going into the season.
  15. Goodness me, some Essendon work colleagues weren’t very friendly today. I was greeted with “free kick Melbourne, GAGF” first thing. I just slightly pulled down the mask so they can see the grin on my face and told them to save their energy for the Cattery.
  16. Keen to see a lot more of Turner. The couple of times he was involved he recovered well to win the ball.
  17. Good start to the telecast, no new cases in VIC. Bounce the ball.
  18. Hi Sku, I’m not sure how you gain access to individual tracking numbers. The AFL app only shows the top 5 for each category listed in the stats of the game. Pickett featured on top in sprinting with 27 total sprint efforts, Essendon’s best was 19 which was 5th overall. From the ground I noticed Harmes on Heppell in the first quarter before moving in the middle. Our forwards were pushing up to our backline a lot it seemed.
  19. And he followed up and won the ball too Doc. Was tackled but pure strength enabled him to release T Mac with a handball.
  20. Angry, telling someone named Matt to shut up during the interview wasn’t in jest I felt. Loved his honesty in that interview.
  21. Tracker stats always interest me. Our two main forwards T Mac and Fritsch finished in the top 5 for total distance covered last night. Doesn’t surprise me to see them shank a couple of kicks at goal when they’re asked to run up and down the field all game.
  22. “ Does anyone know how to get to GMHBA stadium next Friday night?”
  23. In previous years we’ve allowed one loss to turn into a slump. We’ve found different ways of winning this year and that’s very important. At this stage of the season I’ll take 4 points any which way. Thankfully we were surrounded by MFC supporters. Instead of sheep I’ll have to count boos to fall asleep. Our best tonight are obvious but special mention to Gus and Hunt for working their absolute backside off defensively.
  24. Tigers were atrocious last night. Cotchin took some angry pills with cheap shots all over the field, Pickett was trying to take mark of the year in the backline knocking over his teammates in the process, Balta before his injury was trying to play dry weather football and Dusty looked like he wanted to be on a bean bag in front of the fire. The Saints were just ok, nothing special but the Richmond performance stunk of arrogance.
