Of course he has won a 50/50 contest (I forgot to hit the sarcastic button), he just doesn't do it often enough. This post reminds me of why I rarely write on here any more.

I must admit I haven't seen any of that game.

Even when he is playing well he still rarely (if ever) wins 50/50 contests, he always needs to be clear of his opponent.

Agree with all of that, I'd like to see Morton dropped to the gym also.

I think it should be a free kick for intentionally diving (especially diving forward when tackled), whether or not it would be a practical rule to implement I don't know but I got a lot of satisfaction out of Macdonald's hit on that rat Ballantyne.

That's the kind of football that he is capable of and that's they way he needs to play week in, week out. Not only was his around the ground work good, his tap work was much better.

Macdonald was one of few players to go hard at the ball and the man consistently all game.

I would have thought the fact that Adelaide were paying him more attention following his recent good performance was more of a factor.

I've invented a new drinking game, drink every time Danny Frawley says "frontal pressure". The last time I checked it's exactly the same as "forward pressure".

I almost cried when I saw Morton lightly jogging towards Frawley looking for a pass from 20 metres away late in that second quarter. Sums up the day for me so far.

I have no confidence in Bate when he is in a one-on-one with his opponent. I have no confidence in Scully when he turns on to his left boot. I have no confidence in any Melbourne player to tackle and not give away a dumb free kick (Garland, Jones and Scully already today).

Agreed. Correct. Agreed, the umpires should be treated like goal posts, quietly and anonymously going about their business, but we shouldn't notice them. They shouldn't have individual numbers, but rather a 1,2 and 3 in each game, they shouldn't refer to players by their nicknames and they shouldn't talk to players about their decisions just call it and move on.

Like I said, there is truth to it, it doesn't apply to everyone but there is truth to it.
