What annoys me most is that the main areas where Melbourne are rubbish (effort, running, spreading, tackling and teamwork) have nothing to do with talent.

Win? I just want to see the players actually play as something that loosely resembles a team.

I'm by no means a Watts fan and should be dropped, but I'm curious to see him line up in the middle. No doubt I'd regret it but curious nonetheless.

I've spoken to quite a few non-Melbourne supporters about this and they all say how depressing his talk was. Again, the message was good but he is so void of any emotion or connection with the players that in no way does what he says resonate with them.

I hate to single out Grimes because he actually tries but there were numerous occasions at the centre bounces where he was a full second slower to react to the bounce. As a result his opponent was well in front of him and ready to receive the tap.

I must admit when I went to a training this year I left underwhelmed by the intensity and skills. That's comparing with previous years too.

Actually Casey have been a very good team in recent years and only Melbourne not allowing their players to play in the finals has prevented Casey from achieving any great success.

I hate the fact that Neeld keeps referring to this year as a "development year". It may be true but the players are playing like it is. Why not say we are passed development and are looking for results? The players probably don't feel as though they are a chance of competing when their coach keeps talking them down.

Watching so many good games of football today, seeing players work hard for each other with and without the ball I don't think I've ever been so jealous.

It is painful to watch the lack of effort and football smarts when it comes to Melbourne picking up opposition. Part of the issue is that we just don't have leaders to out on the ground to tell teammates to man-up.
