In fairness, Tapscott slipped on a sprinkler cover early on, I don't think he was recruited with injuries.

Does development come from the club actively "developing" the players or is development simply having better senior players in the team to take the burden off young players?

The difference is for the most part they can see the whole ground, that's what you lose from watching on TV and so much happens off the ball that they could be telling us about.

It just seems that commentators (mainly Channel Seven) are talking about players in general terms as opposed to calling what is actually happening in the game now and analysing that game. It annoys me to no end becuase I don't need Luke Darcy to tell me how he likes the way Nathan Jones goes about it, I want to find something out that I otherwise wouldn't know about the game unless I was there.

I can't wait until Gawn is fit. Spencer was certainly better but he will still struggle against good ruckmen.

That show is the most painful pile of rubbish I've ever seen. It perfectly sums up Channel Seven's AFL coverage, more interested in celebrity and social media than presenting a professional sport.

I've been saying for years if they only pay the really obvious ones then umpiring will be far more consistent. As soon as one umpire pays a soft decision then they need to pay every other one for the rest of the game which isn't easy to do.

I wasn't talking about them but they all have or had major flaws that severely hamper their overall ability to play football. For what it's worth I was concerned about Trengove's lack of pace in 2011, it's nothing new.
