  1. We have three tall defenders in the McDonald's and Frost (plus Hibberd and Jetta as stalwarts down back) and we are looking at giving up the farm for another? Don't get me wrong, Lever is a gun but I'd much rather we go after another midfielder or simply use the draft picks in the draft.
  2. He became a totally different player when moved forward and was a massive upgrade on what Bugg had been offering previously.
  3. Adelaide will expect a gun player in return. I doubt pick 10 and ANB will be enough for them.
  4. Don't worry about his salary, what it is we will have to trade to get him is the big question.
  5. Weideman is contracted until the end of 2019.
  6. We need good footballers.
  7. Lever is a gun but I'd much rather keep the McDonald's and Frost, and use that salary cap and trade options for a classy midfielder.
  8. He has value. I don't necessarily want to trade him but we aren't going to get the likes of Josh Kelly by offering Dean Kent.
  9. Earlier this year I said that this was going to be the most even season in recent memory, this was correct. Next year will be even more even, therefore it will be hard to say we need to win a certain number of games because I'm not convinced that we will see this continual growth in the number of wins. Like this year it will come down to few results either way.
  10. We need to find a role for him, down back he has become a liability. We should have used him as a tagger all year, I think that should be his role.
  11. Agree with all that except I'd look to trade Watts while he still has some currency.
  12. Thread of the year.
  13. Plus Grimes and Simon Buckley.
  14. St Kilda will most likely want a player like Oliver, Brayshaw or Petracca in return as part of a trade.
  15. It does explain why Judd, Franklin and Pendlebury were all so keen to come to Melbourne.
  16. I've just become so used to his dominance that even I overlook how good he is each week.
  17. Easily his best game for the club, when he put his head over the ball in the last quarter that was huge in us winning.
  18. I think they said he was shepherding Membrey even though he was busy duelling with another player. It started St Kilda's run and gave them momentum.
  19. Gawn's free kicks and the one against Jetta in the second were baffling.
  20. When they listed Coniglio to justify his selection they listed his stats and Oliver's blew his out of the water in every way.
  21. Hogan is a two to four goal a game forward. The others are three to six goal a game forwards.
  22. For someone who had such good skills his skills are terrible. He also panics when under pressure horribly. I'd put him on a half forward flank.
  23. Our zone needs to be adaptable so that a player like Frost can be permanently on an opponent like Ben Brown, how Jetta was left to cover him so many times is bewildering.
  24. Great post, those stats are damning. Brown was always going to kill us yet we seemingly had no strategy to stop him.
