  1. I always liked Kent, it was a shame that he did his shoulder when he did because he offered us quite a lot but I can understand why he would like a new opportunity elsewhere.
  2. His effort to step up as the first ruckman last year when Gawn was injured should never be forgotten, we could have done a lot worse than keep him for another year to be honest.
  3. Sad to see Pedersen go, always a favourite of mine. The lineage of pick 5 of the 2003 draft has finally come to an end.
  4. Just passing on what I was told which allegedly came from May himself.
  5. May is coming to Melbourne I have been told.
  6. Andrew Bradshaw and a top 10 pick in return please.
  7. We should have done this two years ago. We can't expect Gawn to ruck every game like he did this season.
  8. You're right, nothing good can possibly come from beating Hawthorn and Geelong in front of 90,000 people at the MCG as the youngest and least experienced finals team having not even been there for twelve years.
  9. Tyson played exactly as expected. Fritsch adds composure and class to the flanks.
  10. This didn’t cost us the game but it set the tone for what was to come.
  11. That was odd wasn't it. The whole game was perplexing to me, not saying it happened but it was as if they all got food poisoning or something.
  12. I just wanted to make finals so that period from when Kent kicked the sealer against West Coast to today was the most I've enjoyed football for a long time. Having said that, we can't just assume we will improve next year, we must learn from our mistakes and continue to be bold. Before the Geelong and Hawthorn games I was really relaxed, the only time I started to get stressed in the finals was when we dropped Fritsch and kept Tyson because it felt we were making the same old Melbourne mistakes. It didn't cost us the game but it put us on the wrong foot and it's just a shame to finish the season that way.
  13. His worst game for the club, directly cost us the game early on.
  14. Spot on, although you went soft on Lewis who was appalling. Fritsch - Missed his kicking
  15. Overall I'm very happy with the season, it's just a massive shame we saved our worst game for last. My summary from today's game: Bringing in Smith was good but as I expressed many times dropping Fritsch (one of our best kicks) and keeping Tyson (slow and always looks to handball) didn't sit well for me and was a sign of things to come When the game was there to be won early we constantly overused the ball by hand which directly contributed to West Coast's early goals, even the commentators picked up on this and sadly didn't change during the game Our lack of tackling and pressure was simply baffling, I simply do not understand how it could drop away so easily Our lack of attack on the ball when it was in contested situations was baffling Lewis' ill discipline and turnovers (too many handballs) killed us, his worst game for the club by a mile and the antithesis of why we got him in the first place We desperately need crumbing forwards, West Coast just walked the ball out of our backline with Hannan and Melksham being next to useless Kennedy and Darling destroyed us, again lack of pressure from our defenders was simply baffling The play that summed up or game was when ANB was 30 metres out directly in front and he kicked to Weideman who was in the pocket and had two opponents, we somehow kicked a goal but only through pot luck, we didn't pull the trigger or look to kick as the first option at all during the game Viney, Oliver, Harmes and vandenBerg tried hard
  16. ANB passing from 30 metres out directly in front to a player in the pocket with two opponents (yes, we luckily kicked a goal) sums up the game.
  17. Sums up the day’s play. Started early when we had passed all the time when the game was to be won.
  18. Handballing yet again the problem. Surely the coaches told the players to actually kick the ball at half time.
  19. I’ve been much the same since the Sydney game.
