  1. Go back and look at the the VFL/AFL was like when zones were in place, it was a disaster. There is a reason we have a draft and salary cap, they are the two most important aspects to the competition which is why the COLA and academies are the two biggest blights on the current system.
  2. No club should have an academy. The AFL should run an academy that all clubs have equal access to.
  3. "I need to vomit. Oh look there's Tom Scully, I'll vomit over there."
  4. I'm flattered that you have started a thread about me with so many comments.
  5. He has the Sydney and Hawthorn frame, lean yet strong through the hips.
  6. For those who are wondering what this crazy nutter is on about, watch this passage by Kent at the start.
  7. Bump. Today we had Tyson get caught holding the ball after taking a mark in the middle of the ground, Gawn handpass into the man on the mark, vandenBerg on the half forward line handpass to Jones who was under pressure instead of just kicking it himself and Kent take so long to get back behind the man on the mark on the half forward line that was forced to go sideways which was turned over and resulted in a Gold Coast goal. Why can we not get the basics of making practical decision from a mark or free kick right? How hard is it to get back quickly behind the mark and not kick under unnecessary pressure?
  8. Terrible news, I rate him.
  9. No doubt Mathieson needs to change for his own safety at the very least, but our players should have been smarter in how and when they tackled him.
  10. Our players need to improve their tackling as much as anything.
  11. He's already had his jaw or cheek broken this year.
  12. I was talking about Petracca, but I agree Stretch is very good young player, so clean and composed as others have mentioned.
  13. With every game he is picking up the pace better and better, he doesn't have the natural football smarts that Oliver does (few in the AFL do) but he more than plays his role.
  14. I actually felt sorry for the Brisbane supporters around me because I could relate to their team being so bad but then I remembered they saw their team win three premierships in a row and then I stopped caring.
  15. He was ducking and yet our players still tackled poorly allowing the free kicks to be drawn.
  16. Collingwood were second youngest last week, was this the case again this week?
  17. I can't stress this enough, Melbourne taking Oliver at pick 4 truly is remarkable. In years gone by we would have just followed the "experts" and taken Parish (Scully, Trengove, Morton and Toumpas) but somehow without playing a game our recruiting team (along with some of us on here) were able to see the talent he has.
  18. Thank you. I just love how at all times Oliver was on the move, it was just so instinctive.
  19. Brayshaw was fantastic (plus he did it at AFL and not NAB Challenge level), but Oliver's impact thus far as a first year player has been better.
  20. No chance, I've not seen a draftee at Melbourne come in and have such an immediate impact like Oliver has had.
