Opposition Watch: Rd 1 vs Port Adelaide
Satyriconhome replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's polite It's all quite simple if our 22 play better than Port's 22 and luck smiles on us in front of goal we wlll win, doesn't matter who is in either team because both coaches will pick a 22 that is fit, in form and has impressed in ore season -
Had an appointment over there so dropped in to watch before and see how Dom Tyson is tracking Same Dom, inside mid, looked a class above, some good clearances, great handball choice and a couple of butchered kicks, long range left foot goal Polec the standout, Aaron Hall trying too hard, tried one of his mazy runs, his opponent must have watched his vision, absolutely smashed him in a tackle Other one to stand out was Boomer Harvey Some of the ball movement was ponderous

Didn't get a name but was credentialed middle distace ruuner He had Harmes leaning on the fence dry retching, spoke to Harmes after, said it was hardest he had ever run, but was already feeling better for it There are new 2km PB's everywhere, Hunt, Jetta and Salem, 3 I know of It's a new season, every player hurt, but as the cliche goes, learn and move on Of course the confidence is there, but pointless otherwise Not interested in gallery oerfect photos, have the eye to snap good action, doesn't matter if it's a bit blurry -

Anyway back on topic, 10+ minutes goalkicking practice was a guide figure, that is in the organised part of the session A lot of players spend time before and after the session And the pacticing is not all set shotstraight in front 40 out, a lot of the organised drills are hands of packs, off the ground, handball receive on overlap My hope with our running ability is there will be about 4 players who need their set shot routine set, Tommy Mac who didn't miss one in the wet today, Weid and the 2 ruckmen, all the rest will be on the run, out the back etc, like a lot of the goals were last year -

Each year the standard rises, the players get the message, there is no pounding up and down Anderson Hill this year, everybody, including the rehabbers was ready to go Rd 1 And what May said about the MFC training -

Not sure, seems upbeat at training, so can't be getting him down, was indiors today, doesn't seem inconvenienced when running -

Hibberd and Jetta got a bit of a knock on Saturday, did bits and pieces rehab and main grouo, no issue, Baker and Viney on a gradual intro to main group so bits and pieces as well Melksham tested the hammy by doing a sliding mark in the wet, no issue Camera is all about the image not the quality the Monet of training photos perhaps Read my post, they were used on another platform without attribution, Demonland is ok to post -

Most of the advances are more on the technological side, ie drones, body cams, advanced gps etc And specialist coaches, like boxing, grappling/tackling and the runner pre Xmas to get the miles into the rehabbers I asked about the ball shooter after somebody mentioned pre Xmas Answer 'the players kick the ball' -

Forgot, no sgn of May And for those who have been to Goschs, Tommy Mac hasn't forgot how to do the defensive spike/punch in the wet, was about 3 metres from fence and put it through the trees and onto Punt Road, impressive -

Yes, but you jinxed him?? gave his head a good belt on the ground during the tackling drill, left looking a bit worse for wear, uptil then was really good, received praise a couple of times for his shot selection during ball movementt drills The small forward competition is on, during the tackling drill Garlett, Spargo, Bedford, Corey Wagner and JKH all trying to outdo each other which can only benefit the team Forgot Chandler, edit Walked back to AAMI with James Harmes, had a laugh comparing the skinny blonde kid with the toothy smile from 5 years ago to the man I was walking next to now, he said he is the fittest he has ever been and is one solid unit Oliver completed the whole session with the main group -

I found two of my photos unattributed on another forum, hence my post, Internet etiquette I don't need the attention Ethan, I just find a small group of posters on here insufferable blowhards, it's not me, as you can see, who starts this, on this occasion using a lack of comprehension the reason to launch Anyway back on topic, it was a lovely sunny morning at Goschs, I wish Even with the atrocious weather, it was a really good solid session, with lots of emphasis on ball movement in the drills On the rehab side it was just Tim Smith, Melksham and Lever, with Hibberd, Jetta, Baker and Viney doing a couple things in rehab as well, but also some main group drills Jones and KK were inside, don't blame them Lever was kicking and jumping at the ball, so progressing nice Session finshed with a very willing tackling session, we have a specialist coach for this as well now -
About to start So lots of running, kicking, marking etc Just a note, Demonland has permission to use my Insta photos, nobody else does, so if you want to use, ask my permission, otherwise they won't be on Demonland either Will do a bit of 'reporting' later

Last time I saw him train, he was running laps at a decent clip, he is a valuable player, so assume because he has had a couple of hamstring issues, they have done a complete check, ie back related etc, to ensure no repeat during the season Last time I spoke to him he was confident it was just a blip, but they always are, next week or so should be a true picture -

Wasn't it good to read that Jetta, Omac and Trac showed that their interrupted pre season has had a major impact -
They had a very early morning training session before they left QLD, Wednesday off and country visits today, then training on Saturday, probably do indoor work tomorrow and then maybe another outdoor on Monday

Of course STMJ most are self appointed genii, myself included, on footy and will spout forth on a regular basis, making sure that every reader on thr board understands their opinion is the only right one I know the Footy Dept read this board, but inly when they need a break from the harsh reality that is modern footy Except Moonie if course, he's contebt just to troll -

My God underselling your powers, I am shocked This is Demonland, there are posters on here who know so much more than the coaches we have, the coaches make sure they read Demonland to ensure they don't let their inadequacies fail the team -

He was made redundant What @hemingway said in his post Follow the players on Instagram, you don't have to post yourself, social media junkies like Clarry, Jack Viney are posting all the time, especially from the Camp The hypocrites who used to bemoan the 'spin' from the Club, are now demanding more
