  1. I asked him, he enjoyed last year, obviously now erring on the side of caution
  2. It was the normal Wednesday craft session Lots of ball movement, marking and tackling drills It is probably Tommy Mac and his toe again Nice drill at the end with marking using the bag, Mick Stinnear voluteered to be under the bag, think Gawny went out of his way to flatten him one time, much to everyone's amusement Dec Keilty was the standout in this drill, had Goodwin and another coach belting them with smaller bags as they launched onto big one, Keilty did not drop one whereas the others did

That was the info I had, I know Nev wanted to play, but was 'advised' because of his training load up to now not to Think most didn't want to risk injury with the competition for spots going to be hot
  4. Two things 1. I said to him the other day 'you played well the other day in the praccy match at Casey on Saturday' Nev 'I have to if I want to keep my place in the team, even at training' How times have changed 2. His comments re fitness and rehab, what I have been saying

Think they see him as another Nibbler, maybe cover and keep Nibs honest During match sim both buzz around everywhere Craft for small fwds is pressure, tackling and kicking goals anyway you can

Corey Wagner, has what has been inferred in the first post, under that radar Just been ticking off the preseason sessions Can run all day and has good skills, does a lot of the craft work with the other small forwards, Spargo, Garlett etc Josh Wagner is what we have seen, a solid AFL player, who needs to excel and sustain to get a chance in AFL team
  7. It is not 'attacking', but some of the comments are shall we say a trifle 'unrealistic' I often wondered why Misso wandered around with a cosh, now i know it was to attack feet of unsuspecting players McDonald was/is a toe, which is manageable AVB was a heel, contracted in a game, which was one nobody had seen before, more like a motorcyclists injury Trengove's was a foot that didn't respond at first to the 'normal' treatment for that injury So all Misso's fault then?
  8. I hope they didn't waste too much time on Grundy, he might not be playing, wasn't there yesterday
  9. Nah, the normal innocuous training injury, just seemed to get the landing wrong in a marking contest, had looked really good uptil then
  10. If you watch the clip, I may be in background, it was about 15 metres away
  11. Elliott is back, looks really sharp Playing Reid as a forward Moore as a key defender Cox still taking a difficult mark and dropping the easy Maynard one of the standouts, looks a better player again from last year Sidebottom being Sidebottom Beames has done whole session Whole session has neen a practice game
  12. He landed awkwardly after attempting a mark, yes no MFC training so I'm next door having a squiz They still seem to move the ball down the wings, very loathe to bring it in the corridor
  13. What is has meant in last couple of years is an enclosed venue, obviously games are coming close, we want to do some setups On that note, it was amusing to see a Norths guy wandering around on Tuesdsy checking all the faces under caps or hoodies
  14. Goodwin is only pointing out the obvious Not sure which bit some of you don't get re rehab Clarry did his first full session out of 'rehab' on Tuesday in atrocious conditions and got through without a hitch, so he has done the load and conditioning work required Bit disappointed for KK looked ok on Tuesday, obviously being extra cautious, which is exactly what Jonesy told me and BB on Tuesdsy about his 'rehab' but he should be main group next week along with Viney, Baker and others Leaving question marks on Lever, KK and possibly Hannan? With May already being covered by the Club
  15. Yes never given the times but told PB Keep it in the club so I don't push it
  16. Agreed, it's his opinion, I just want to be thete when he expresses it to Trac, simple request Hannan had both knees operated on to fix problems once and for all
  17. It was an Intraclub as others have stated, Boomer was two plays ahead on 3 occasions to take intercepts Polec will be an asset, same with Dom, Hall needs to put the handbrake on a bit from what I saw, trying too hard An interesting observation, they did the huddle with a chant like MFC not the vibrancy or enthusiasm from all, unlike us, maybe a sign of a team that hasn't quite gelled After a couple of injuries they sat Ben Brown down for second half
  18. That's polite It's all quite simple if our 22 play better than Port's 22 and luck smiles on us in front of goal we wlll win, doesn't matter who is in either team because both coaches will pick a 22 that is fit, in form and has impressed in ore season
  19. Had an appointment over there so dropped in to watch before and see how Dom Tyson is tracking Same Dom, inside mid, looked a class above, some good clearances, great handball choice and a couple of butchered kicks, long range left foot goal Polec the standout, Aaron Hall trying too hard, tried one of his mazy runs, his opponent must have watched his vision, absolutely smashed him in a tackle Other one to stand out was Boomer Harvey Some of the ball movement was ponderous
  20. Didn't get a name but was credentialed middle distace ruuner He had Harmes leaning on the fence dry retching, spoke to Harmes after, said it was hardest he had ever run, but was already feeling better for it There are new 2km PB's everywhere, Hunt, Jetta and Salem, 3 I know of It's a new season, every player hurt, but as the cliche goes, learn and move on Of course the confidence is there, but pointless otherwise Not interested in gallery oerfect photos, have the eye to snap good action, doesn't matter if it's a bit blurry
  21. Please let me know when you are going to show him, I want to be there
  22. Anyway back on topic, 10+ minutes goalkicking practice was a guide figure, that is in the organised part of the session A lot of players spend time before and after the session And the pacticing is not all set shotstraight in front 40 out, a lot of the organised drills are hands of packs, off the ground, handball receive on overlap My hope with our running ability is there will be about 4 players who need their set shot routine set, Tommy Mac who didn't miss one in the wet today, Weid and the 2 ruckmen, all the rest will be on the run, out the back etc, like a lot of the goals were last year
  23. Each year the standard rises, the players get the message, there is no pounding up and down Anderson Hill this year, everybody, including the rehabbers was ready to go Rd 1 And what May said about the MFC training
