  1. I only have what Nev and Rawlings told me, Nev's last six games at Casey last year included being in the best six each time and BOG once. He was told that he was delisted but because of those six games he would be given a chance on the rookie list if he was interested, Rawlings pushing his case Because he had no operations to get through for the first time ever he continued to train right through the break and turned up on the first day of pre season in the best shape he had ever been in, got through his first complete pre season Started at Casey, decided that going forward with Roos emphasis on role playing, that Nev would play where he always wanted to play as a small defender/halfback......banged the door down at Casey until he got into the AFL side on the back of others long term injuries...rest is history Would assume he is one of the first picked at the moment, and rewarded with a new 2 year contract
  2. That's just a rehash.....nothing every Melbourne supporter doesn't know anyway at the moment
  3. You only have to look at the coaches Roos brought in to see where he is coming from, Mathews, McPherson and Miller, no superstars but good solid footy players who gave 100% consistently...teaching the same...and Allison meant to put him first but got distracted about somebody talking about work...only 2 weeks to go and then I am delisted....can sympathise with Nev
  4. She was safe, didn't see the news till this morning, besides which she is his second biggest supporter, so I was safe as well If Nev's body behaves there will be no form drop, if you ever get the chance to have a chat to him about footy, take it
  5. I am more than beside myself, nearly wore my 39 jumper into work this morning, but the anal retentives would probably whinge Nev was delisted to create another midfielder spot that Roos wanted, unfortunately at that time he was the obvious candidate, Jade Rawlings went into bat for him to be rookied One full preseason without a hiccup, one pre season without an operation of any kind, finally having a body that let's you perform, being played in the role that you love, he is now able to show the talent that got him drafted in the first place Ask the players about Nev and the one thing you get back is his character, he was never going to go down without a fight. I kind of feel sorry for the first GWS player he lines up this weekend NOT
  6. The phrase was 'not publicly support'.....we have had those instances in the last couple of weeks
  7. Don't you think Roos played him in the back 6 at times last week, just to see how he went in one on one contests, now knows for sure it is an area that needs work, if he didn't know already.......there is method in Roos madness
  8. Thanks chap, reckon Goddard aged my acquaintance each week
  9. Brad Scott and Lindsay Thomas, Chris Scott and Steve Johnson, Mick Malthouse and Mitch Robinson and the list goes on
  10. Personally I wouldn't trade Watts, true he frustrates every supporter in some way, but I equate him to Brendon Goddard (used to bring at ST Kilda supporting acquaintance of mine to tears on a regular basis), he is getting there, (whoops hit the post key too quick).....Roos seems content with the direction Watts is heading so all this talk of trade etc seems mute
  11. Yes but that is why you and some others post on here and are not list managers at a footy club
  12. Hardtack, I don't think they are bashers per se, unfortunately we have about five topics at the moment all discussing what we need or who should be delisted or who should we draft, unfortunately Jack Watts has been and always will be a target, but your post sums it up, Roos is pleased with him, end of debate on Watts I am just thankful that none of us posters on here have any input to Melbourne's list, people think we are in a bad place at the moment and perhaps we are, I shudder to think where we would be if half of what Demonland posters wanted in the way of list management actually occurred
  13. WJ for once I tend to disagree with you, these are full time professional footballers, it is their job, if they can't lift at VFL level to help their more inexperienced team mates, then there is not much of a future at AFL level, it is just footy, doesn't matter what level you are at, if you are a good player you will stand out, according to reports we had 2 or 3 do that. If as you say the Casey guys are inexperienced, I would expect to see 6 Melbourne listed players in the best each week, that is not the case
  14. Do you want to elaborate? Agree JKH couldn't make an impact, but it wasn't from the lack of trying
  15. The mindset displayed on this site sometimes is terrible, the second half against the Hawks put the brakes on, we are still so far behind what were supporters expecting, this season was about Roos sorting the wheat from the chaff.......Barry, Riley, Tyson, Michie showed at the weekend we are on the right track....Roos comment at the end of his presser that players can't afford to wait till pre season will ensure that whichever 22 are sent out this weekend their minds will be set firmly on the task at hand
  16. It's you that keeps biting back....let's see pre season occupied most of those six months, so do I have a life. er yes, was I living it, er yes, do I need to spend the pre season posting the same topic ad infinitum..er no....I just find it a bit rich from so called supporters who can't even be bothered watching never mind attending games, feel they have the right to then pronounce exactly what was wrong with the game.......how do you know?......(I doubt you could successfully lead an expedition up a flight of stairs never mind an attack on the MCG)....WYL and P-Man wow nice company....maybe if there was a statue of Cam Schwab you may get WYL's interest......
  17. Yes I thought so, personal attack on me, anyway I think I have made my point, if you can't be bothered even going to the games, your opinions on anything about the MFC are pretty worthless
  18. Personal attack, I have acquaintances, just have to make sure they are not knobs before assimiliating them into my circle, my point you come on here with your grandstanding comments and can't even be arsed watching the game, if you didn't watch it....how do you know what occurred......I had concerns about your comments now I know they have no consequence whatsoever........at least I go to the games
  19. CBF......my quote won't work, you didn't even watch the game, yet you still come on here and pontificate, couldn't make the EFFORT to watch....nice support, if you didn't watch it, how are you making your opinions, Vulcan mind melding?
  20. C&B, we could have got him the year before, that is why I was so disappointed, he was overlooked for two years, he only got drafted after tearing it up in the WAFL, which he was persuaded to return to after going home to Bunbury after being overlooked the first time
  21. I wasn't having a go C&B, said I wasn't a basher, more of an example of the good footy stock Nev comes from, I first spoke to him at the Family Day out at Casey the year he was drafted, I walked away so impressed my jumper had his number on for that season and all since.......I was only disappointed that BP could have followed up and we could have had both Nev and Lewis....Nev even gave me a heads up on how good Lewis was at that first Family Day...........
  22. That's because he has a footy brain, but it took Roos and his team to recognise it......if you want to know about footy, sit down with the Jetta clan, I did once, his mum has forgotten more about the game than most of us know, I am not one of the BP bashers, but he actually had a good convo with Nev's mum about a cousin called Lewis but didn't follow it up...sigh
  23. You really do need to get facts correct, if you are going to post, entire ruck stock?, er King and Pedersen Why would we suddenly get rid of Riley after we have spent so long getting him back from a broken leg I must tell Daniel Cross you want him to retire next year, he looked superb at training yesterday, he can keep getting one year contracts for the next 5 years in my humble opinion
  24. On reputation, example or what might be?......
