Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 14
faultydet replied to WERRIDEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
Footy, Seaworld style. Looking forward to the runners coming out on Jetskis -
Lets hope we get back to winning bigly

My oldest son gave up on the Dees several years back. I continue to buy him a membership every year, but have made no effort to convince him to back the Dees, and lost 4 grandkids to Rugby League as a result. This club is killing itself, and has nowhere else to look for blame. Lets be honest, until our young decent players are 2 or 3 years older, we are going nowhere.
-
Never said it wouldn't happen PD. Simply disappointed that it hasn't happened regularly yet, apart from Oliver Viney Gawn, and T-Mac. I thought last week was the first display of true finals style football that we have played in the Goodwin era, and one of the best games i've ever seen (losing aside). It's a bloody shame we didn't get over the line, as it would have only taken 5 minutes of Hogan/Petracca to have iced the game for us. Once our guys have the maturity to play that way week in week out, we will be in Premiership mode, and bloody hard to stop.
-
And that is EXACTLY what the difference is with our so called "stars" Real stars of the game live for the big moments, whereas most of ours seem to overawed in every big game we play. If only the entire side were as consistent as Oliver, regardless of opposition, we would be world beaters.
-
Will probably see our under performing "stars" return to form against the weaker teams over the next few weeks. While that will be welcome, I'm concerned that it will simply be papering over the cracks until we play any of the top 4 contenders. We have gone from last years unpredictable giant killer, to being very predictable at mauling the bottom feeders, while not being capable of handling the top 8 sides. I'm no longer convinced that we will beat any of the power teams that we will meet in the run to finals. If we play with the same intensity for every remaining game that we displayed last week, we can still make the top 4, but it will take players like Petracca and Hogan to find consistent form. I fear that we will fall away quickly once the players have doubts about finals again. A massive challenge for corporate-speak Goodwin to get the players up every week. We really do need to hammer these bottom clubs to rebuild confidence.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
faultydet replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have no idea about football. I thought Lewis did some great things against Port. Treacle slow, yes, but well worth his place in the team. -
Hogan insipid Oscar, poor bastard, how could anyone expect a great performance from a bloke who was all alone in the back 50? (Hibberd Exempted) Viney/Oliver epic. Champions Gawn killed it in the ruck Never out muscled, unlike against Colonwood Dees owe me a pantry door, a dining table foot, and a first aid kit. Watch us beat up on bottom 4 side next 2 weeks Pissweak. So many other sides can come from nowhere, but never us. Its a cultural thing, Im sure.

Lance Franklin - Superstar 7× All-Australian team: 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 4× Coleman Medal: 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017 Peter Crimmins Medal: 2008 6× Hawthorn leading goalkicker: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 4× Sydney Swans leading goalkicker: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 2× AFL Goal of the Year: 2010, 2013 Australian representative honours in international rules football: 2013 Dream Team representative honours in AFL Hall of Fame Tribute Match: 2008 Indigenous All-Stars representative honours: 2013 AFL Rising Star nominee: 2005 A single best and fairest and no Brownlows, from a bloke who may be in the top-20 all time players.... Interesting theory Saty. All Australians are also a good indicator of the quality of a player.....

On form so far, I tend to agree. Your boy Hyphen was exposed as having zero situational awareness today. Needs to take the blinkers off.
-
Have a look at who they were. Wins are great, but I want a flag. It's been a while.

Said it on the Petracca thread, but will repeat here. Petracca for Wines? I'd take the odd turnover from Wines, to gain his consistant high 20's possessions every week. Today was a glaring example of why we have not completed our midfield bull collection yet. Embarrassed....
-
Petracca for Wines. Fair swap.
-
This. Yet again, when the heat is truly on, our players haven't got the guts to tough it out. "We hurt from round 23" "The pain of rd 23 drives us" Fkkn yack yack yack Colonwood wanted the ball MUCH more than our blokes did. They hit harder, hunted in numbers, and didnt give an inch the ENTIRE game. We were rushed, panicked, and timid. Pretenders once more. We've beaten nobody so far. Nobody at all. And anyone who says we don't need Wines is a fwit. The flashy outsiders can do zip, when the inside mids are annihilated for 4 qtrs.
-
I hope the remaining 2 are in good condition.

Must think its Christmas day. Toy insanity.....

Craig Jennings; The Secret to Our Success

If they win a flag, the whole team can go on a coke bender for all I care. I wont be in any fit state to make judgement....... -
Medical Association for Prevention of War The Medical Association for Prevention of War (Australia) works for the elimination of all weapons of mass destruction and the prevention of armed conflict. We promote peace through research, advocacy, peace education and partnerships. A Lefty rag quoting a lefty rag. You will find that almost all of your high profile international aid/care/advocacy groups are left wing. It's a Soros thing. 1: Of course you are duh. You are more reliable than a TAG HEUER at leaping to the defence of left leaning issues. 2: Not just fundamentalists Jara. Even many of the devotees who would not make the effort to remove my head with a carving knife would vote for laws that would change the country I love into a sharia state. 3: See, that's a HUGE chasm in our thinking right there. The full force of the law is dealt AFTER a crime has been committed, or a plot uncovered. I believe we should take the extremely simple step of preventing the insidious ideology from entering our country in the first place. 4: Jesus H Christ. My main concern is not for the "feelings" of an incompatible ideology, it is for the lives of my family, loved ones, and fellow countrymen. Islam is completely at odds with the Aussie culture. Its beyond debate mate. 5: This is not simply about Jihadis. Every major piece of Islamic ideology is incompatible with western civilisation. Reform, or remove. Simple as that.
-
I think you will find that our resident lefties have exactly the same opinion as the globalists who have destroyed western civilisation in Europe. They will never admit there is a huge conflict between Islamic ideology and Western culture, and that the two are doomed to clash in the streets in the decades to come. Lefties have zero interest in protecting western culture, only in punishing whity, and diluting his evil blood for the mystical sins of the father. They believe in "human" culture, not individual cultures of yesteryear. You know, the ones that built the modern world.
-
Europe couldn't remain brain dead forever, but the issue will only go away until the new arrivals out breed the whities, and vote the headscarf as compulsory for ALL women, and open slather for any form of radical preaching from the insane imams. It's only a matter of time. Western Europe is screwed. The lefties (media/academia included) are the sole cause.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
faultydet replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
With the greatest respect to Adelaide and the Walsh family, bloody hell our mob has had a tragic recent run in regards to coaches and players. Jim Stynes Sean Wight Robbie Flower Dean Baily Troy Broadbridge All fondly remembered, and sadly missed. R.I.P -
I suspect he wanted to play with Gaff next season, hence the re-signing. Great news. Thanks Tom.
