Why do people revert to neanderthal behaviours in times like this? I've got (wifes) family in Philippines who had just had their islands locked down for 2 weeks and a father in law on deaths door from tuberculosis.. I'm bloody nervous and my wife was balling her eyes out. The locals have blackbanned the entire family because one cousin has a Korean boyfriend. I will be somewhat surprised if the radio stations at least don't use some canned noise. How boring will radio be without it? I have listened to broadcasts before when the callers have all but admitted the sound people are juicing it up. Hope they do it this weekend. Will listen with interest.

My interest in this game is much more than the 4 points How will the umpires officiate in Perf without the crowds baying for blood every 5 seconds? Will the T.V nerds use canned sound to improve the experience? How much chat from the players will we hear, including the endless swearing that goes on during contact sport? Will we get a better feel for who the in-game leaders are? Will it actually feel like a real game of footy when it's played in near silence?

Play to win every game. The AFL might pull some sort of random Grand Final qualification, and shortened season or not, a granny is a granny What else is there to talk about?

It's impossible to avoid politics on this site. Leftism is a mental disorder imo and unfortunately we have a disparate population of that demographic on this site. While it may lead to the cancellation of round 1 should the person test positive, huge kudos to the AFL community for people thinking of others over themselves by self reporting illnesses. I want round 1 to proceed, but these guys are doing the right thing by everyone when they submit for a test.

Play without fans for now. The moment one player tests positive, no footy of any kind for a few rounds, then re test everyone and start again.

Should be a joke but almost certainly isnt. I know it's being overly cynical, but watch for the draw to be re-jigged so that the big clubs play home games AFTER the crowds are allowed back in.
