Well, if it is true, i hope all Melbourne supporters reserve their loudest boos of the year for Queens Birthday weekend when one C.Judd runs out for the Filth in the black & white.
-
Is it possible that this is a deal on the table if Judd chooses the Pies, and there is a similar one in place in case he chooses melbourne? It seems we are only hanging on by a thread at the moment.
-
With Clement retiring, and possibly Wakelin and Presti. I would like to see the Weagles be very mischevious and target the likes of Goldsack and O'Brien in an attempt to decimate their whole backline.
-
What i can't quite understand about this whole Judd to the Pies scenario, is that it appears, if you believe what is being bandied around, is that Judd had already decided before he had formally met with Collingwood. So, if this is true, then why did he bother meeting with other clubs? If he chose to meet with us for the reasons we all believe he did, and then he turns around chooses the Pies, he must surely know that would be a massive kick in the guts to the club he once loved. If he does indeed choose the Pies, my preference would be that the Tigers make some sought of deal with the Weagles and secure him in the PSD, pending the Pies not willing to come up with a market value deal.

Am I the only person in Victoria who believes this?

I agree with everything said. If i am feeling the pain of a 40+ year premiership drought, then so can Geelong for all i care. Also, there is this turkey named "Brad from Eltham", who has been crowing about the Cats all year on SEN, and taking much delight in how bad the Demons were going. So just to hear him have to choke on his own verbal diahorea would be a small GF victory for me. -
I think she was already working at CH7 in Perth, so i don't know how much we can read into that if it's true.
-
I have to confess, i sms'd that one into SEN, on their Friday arvo segment "Tell us something we don't know". I was driving around daydreaming about how funny it would be if Juddy did that. Maybe he secretly just had the red and blue footy socks on instead.

Thanks for that. Eddie was on The Couch tonight, and the they were once again stating that Judd wanted to go to the Pies. Eddie was trying to turn the trading situation into "West Coast owe a fair bit to Chris Judd". I'm sure the Weagles must be thinking "Yeah, you're right Eddie, how about you give us Rhyce Shaw and we'll call it a straight swap". Not.

Does Melbourne even have a table there tonight???

It's interesting listening to collingwood supporters not wanting to trade away some of their young talent for Judd. I wonder if the question was put to them, would you trade away some of your young talent to have Nathan Buckley be 24 again, and have another 10 years of service, if their response would still be the same.

I went to the game last night and found it amusing listening to some Filth supporters talking about Judd. They were saying "Why would Judd want to go to those other 3 clubs, if he wants to play in finals he definitely be coming to us". It's amazing how oblivious some supporters are to the fact that 3 of the final 4 teams this year(including the 2 GF's)didn't make the 8 last year. Of course whn Melbourne came up, one of the lady's then went on to say "They don't even have a coach do they?", and the idiot who corrected went on to give her a name that barely resembled Dean Bailey. God i hate filth supporters. Not as arrogant as Bomber supporters, just plain dumb and ignorant.
-
Swap Sylvia for Bate, and i'm happy with that.
-
Maybe Bailey should weave a bit more of his magic on Juddy. He seemed to have everyone on the coach selection committee singing out of his hymn book, maybe he can get Chris(and his Mum), singing too.

I reckon if anyone is going to have good mail on the Judd saga, it will be Greg Denim on SEN with KB(Wed & Fri mornings). He is a West Coast man, and mentioned on Friday that he thought Judd was on the verge of leaving, so i will be interested to hear if he knows what West Coasts preferred option is. I would think West Coast would be quite happy to deal with a low profile team like the Demons, rather than see Juddy flying around in a Pies or Blues jumper. I am hoping that lines of communication may be opened between WCE and Judd, to the point where it is discussed between them who actually has the potential to give WCE what they deserve for him. It would be silly of Judd to pick the Pies or Roos, who have high draft picks and would have to do a lot of wheeling and dealing during trade week to get the lower pick the WCE will want, and which could possibly come undone during trade week, leaving the Eagles with no deal at all. For what it's worth, my deal would be Pick #4, Sylvia and Robbo for Judd.

I am interested in all of this Judd to Carlton talk. I don't know much about being a player agent, but i would think that every club would be talking to his agent(Connors), and his agent would probably do a lot of negociating off his own back, before going back to Judd. That being said, there is obviously a leak at board level at Carlton, but every club might be getting feedback from his agent as to what it would take to get Judd. It is just a matter of whether that information gets leaked. I would say due to the arrogance of the Carlton Football Club, that they would just assume that they have him over the line.

We seem to get our fair share of hit outs. I believe that our biggest problem is that we don't actually have the capacity to tap to advantage(our midfielders inability to win the ball around stoppages contributes to this as well). I have harped on about this many times, but i can't cop the fact that when a ruckman can get a clear tap at a contest, he is unable to actually have the thought process to try to tap down to advantage, rather than just bash it aimlessly. Port Adelaide are by far the best team when it comes to running set plays at rucking stoppages, so hopefully Bailey can help us out in that department.

My 3 word player analysis V The Glues
Jerry Lundergard replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Bruce was playing for West Coast, he wouldn't be in their best half dozen. He is probably comparable to Embley at best. I would have Judd, Kerr, Cox, Cousins, Glass and Hunter ahead of him. -
Ward........Gaaawwwwwnnnnnnnn!!!!! Surely.
-
You're not a big fan of the "undersell and overdeliver" motto are you YM?
-
I think Lynden Dunn has as much potential as just about any of our young players on our list. Super competetive, smart, good hands and decision making in close, can play a defensive role as well as go foward and kick a goal. He just needs to improve his consistency throughout the four quarters of a game, as he tends to go a little missing at the moment, but i predict he on the bubble of becoming one of our best players in the next 2-3 years. I also believe he has leadership material written all over him, and don't think it would be a stretch to say he could be captian or vice -captain somewhere down the line.
-
Just out of interest, are you mates with him RR? You seem to go into bat for him on a pretty personal level. Or are you in the fitness industry yourself? I don't know enough about all the circumstnces of our injuries, and enough about the science of a fitness program to call for any sackings of Bohdan. But, i can make general observations, that when i see our team play, we seem physically weaker, and have an inferior work rate than our oppostion. Now, that has always been a criticism of us for a while now, but because we are losing and sufferring loads of injuries this year, i guess the finger gets pointed. Maybe it is all a mental thing, and we should sack our sports pyschologist. We tried the coach, and that didn't work.
-
I'm happy with that explanation, some reasoning behind statements always helps.
-
I like this point, not just for the players we are missing and will get, but the duds on our roster that they will be replacing. That's still kinda ragging on the club in a way, but if a certain red headed backmen is still playing in the red & blue next year, i may boycott games.
-
Not quite, he was actually having a dig at a liberal MP there, and not dishing out their propaganda, like Bolt does through the Herald Scum.
-
If you have a stronger body when you collide, would it make you less likely to obtain an injury?
