For the past couple of years we've had a B grade training oval, and we've performed accordingly. Here's hoping some of the success the smelly pies have had whilst training at Goschs paddock rubs onto us..... Ps. And the Pies new oval riddles them with injuries....I'm not bitter, seriously I'm not

Haha, I've been like this since 2009... -

I too am going and will be by myself. If you see a loner Melbourne supporter screaming his head off in support even if we're 100 pts down, that'd be me...sad I know! -
Great work all!! Thanks heaps for your efforts and perseverance WW and Wizza. I'm sure the whole club has a bit of a spring in their step after seeing you all there this morning. At the moment every bit of confidence will help. I'm excited about the future of our team even if it may take longer than I'd prefer.

I liked the post someone put on another thread. Keep in simple - Every player has to lay 5 tackles and a tackle means - tackle with force and bury the opponent, make him hurt. ATM who gives a stuff if they give a free kick away, I want to see some pain and fear on the opponents face. If everyone achieved their quota, what an awesome display, 100+ bone crunching tackles - now that's what I'd pay to see every day of the week.

I went for a very somber ride this morning, but I'm glad I did because I've cleared my head. I thought to myself last night like no doubt everyone else did, why do we put ourselves through this. My conclusion is, is that I love the club. I have a 2.5 yr old daughter, and what would would it say to her about her dad if I just quit supporting the team when it got tough. MFC you have my support. Although it's going to hurt, I'm going to be a proud supporter. If the club stinks, I'll cop it and provide as much encouragement in a hope that one day we might be competitive again! Go Dees, stick it up em!!!

Hahahaha, hilarious. Politically incorrect, I know - but we're the equivelant of the AFL's fat kid that everyone makes fun of.

I would like some suggestions to a similar predicament: I have a 2.5 yr old daughter and my wife is a Blues supporter, should I continue with my constant bombardment of trying to talk my daughter into becoming a melb supporter (god knows why) with the hope that maybe one day they'll be ok. Or is this just cruel? After yesterday's performance I really don't know why I'd do it to her.... Please help!!!

I have worked why I'm so disappointed about yesterday. It's because I believed the crap the club was feeding us about being fitter, stronger, having better work ethics and leadership - I believed it and was hopeful for a team I could enjoy going to watch. Yesterday proved that I'm an idiot for believing it. And secondly the moneyball theory is best left for the movies.

Cheers, Stuie. I have to say watching it made me more angry. It was good they looked down about the flogging but where is the fight? C'mon FFS fellas show some balls, by saying something like "we're going to make it up to our supporters by not dishing up this crap again. Look out Essendon Saturday night, you'll be coping our wrath" I'm am seriously concerned.

I was at the game, I did not boo. However I think it's about time MFC and the public realize that we as supporters are not soft, tartin wearing snow bunnies who take a furnace of tea to the footy. If we want to our team to perform on the field then they should and need to know and recognize that their supporter base will not stand for dismal performances anymore. Being back the passion both on the field and off. It's time for the school girls that were out on the pitch yesterday to stop talking and prove to us why we should pay and turn up.

I've been looking out for it, but has anyone seen our post match press conference? I know it will be more of the excuses we heard all season last year, but I want to hear from Neeldy's mouth on what he thought of the day and whether he takes any responsibility for it.
-
Totally agree. I reckon I saw Dan Nicholson pull out of every contest and was scared all day. I couldn't believe this was the same guy they were saying was quick in preseason, he was slow, soft and scared.

Ankle. Supposed to be a 2 wk injury, happened a month ago.
-
I'm near our interchange box and all of our players when coming off are pacing the boundary, looking spent. Port on the other hand fresh as daisies.
-
I want Port Adelaide carnage. Let them feel the wrath of a team that gets kicked from every quarter from the footy public. It's time to make a stand....
-
I agree. The future issue I see with Carlton pushing for more G games and the eventual AFL purchase of Etihad, is the afl will decide in their wisdom to shuffle more of our matches to Etihad stadium. It will mean more revenue for the AFL because of Carlton's bigger supporter/member numbers to games. And of course (in the AFL's eyes) it's only Melbourne they're a push over, they can play at Etihad.

Isn't that why we're building a "War chest".....

Whatever the outcome is, I am completely [censored] by this witch hunt - F*#k the AFL. I hope we come out bigger and stronger for this and the team shows it where it really matters - on the field!
-
Inside word: AA had told people that he wanted our blood and was going to stop at nothing to get it. Fortune has favoured us, GM is attempting to and from what i am told has started to negotiate an outcome to get this thing to go away. Supposedly he is after charges but is looking at ways that all parties save face (whatever that means).
-
Of course we were drug free - why would we take performance enhancing drugs if we were supposedly trying to lose?
-
I saw late last night on Channel 7 news highlights that Connelly spoke about the tanking investigation. I've been trying to track down the clip, but cannot find it. Anyone watch it?
-
I propose that we somehow get behind the club once an outcome has been achieved - whether it be a mass turnout at the next training session or match (depending on when this thing goes away). I'm sure the club and players would appreciate us all turning up and supporting them either way. I know I'm going to have a stiff drink to either celebrate or try to forget the outcome of this whole fiasco.
