  1. You're probably right. A lot depends on what culture Dew can build up there...a tough gig for sure.
  2. Who is ‘us’? The media? The fans? We’re not that relevant. Only the opinions and mindset of our Football Department really matters.
  3. Is it is it just me? Has the trade week nonsense addled my brain? Tom Morris says the deals off because of the duration of contract, so ‘Melbourne have to buckle’? What the hell? The duration of the contract between Jessie and Freo is a matter they have to resolve for themselves! Where do we get our journalists from these days?
  4. And just when we get this thread back on track, you introduce the meat industry!
  5. Perhaps Peter Bell is 'the real victim here'... having watched too many episodes of Suits and/or the movie Draft Day - doesn't understand that they're fictional.
  6. The above, and - if Jessie's not looking at a premiership (if he was then the least disruptive course would be to sign-on for longer with us) and instead a fresh start after a personally hellish few years, then the anonymity that comes with Queensland footy could hold the answer. Both Brisbane and Gold Coast are well placed to provide potentially satisfying trades from the MFC's perspective.
  7. Fair enough too. Time to get back to the potential Jessie trade.
  8. @Petraccattack may we’ll be proclaiming genius on the KK thread, however @ManDee has just exhibited it!
  9. For a recently newlywed like Bell the ‘no nookie’ approach may have currency. However after several years of marriage it may become an empty threat.
  10. Some good moderating going on here in the background ?
  11. One thing that player managers of potential and current Fremantle players should take into account are the new restrictions re trainers on the field. With Ross Lyon’s game plan dehydration becomes a serious WH&S risk!
  12. AFL website's poll currently split as to whether it really all off, or this is a ruse by Fremantle. So thread page 300 is still on the cards!
  13. This process has been anything but a waste of time; we still have Jessie, plus a much deeper understanding and appreciation of whisky, cheese and biscuits.
  14. The problem with that is Bell's a much harder target to hit.
  15. Puts both MFC and Freo at risk; no guarantee that his head isn't turned by fresh offers in the interim.
  16. Get to the Chopper!!!
  17. Thanks, where's that rumour coming from Sisso?
  18. The counter-balance being that this would allow Freo to get both Hogan and Lobb, making them better; the points drop off being more substantial between the early picks compared to the later round 1 picks. Everyone gets what they want.
  19. And it speaks many languages...Freo should interpret that as many clubs. If they leave this unresolved then next year's bidding contest for Jessie could become a real bunfight.
  20. So, bistro maths time. In: Pick 5 (1,878 points), Pick 23 (815 points), Freo's 2019 R1 - guessing P5 (1878 points). Out Melb 2019 R1 - guessing Pick 15 (1,125 points). Equals 3,615 points. So that's about pick 5 & 6, albeit with a some degree of uncertainty for both clubs.

  22. Personal conjecture or have you heard something?
  23. I'd love GC to come into the picture; more scope for a fair deal.
  24. Well if Jessie doesn’t get an offer from North Melbourne then he has every right to feel insulted.
  25. It’s morphing from a possibly future Fremantle full forward thread into a former Footscray rover thread.
