POSTGAME: Match SIM vs Richmond
Oliver, Brayshaw and Salem in and we woukd have been a little more competitive and likely taken the points. Also depth like Spargo, Woey and AMW out. Our real problem is our 2nd ruck/tall forward. With Fullarton out cant answer that question. No one to get the ball to ground. BBB's knee may not hold the season.. TMc can play but he is not the 198 /200 cm tall which we lack. Bit early to write us off yet unless we get long term injuries to our guns. Pup Brown looks to be a long term player. Quick, evasive, tackles well and can kick a goal. May play mostly Casey this season but he is AFL quality. Windsor looks a long term player as well. Hope Yze steps up a level or 2 at the Chargers this season. He could be a good F/S. The ground was in awesome condition and no wind today.

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
That is true. The Zones were meant to be rotated but the bigger clubs with productive Zones and plenty of cash kicked up and rotation was canned. Our Zone was not productive. Part of it was in SA.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 2nd February, 2024
Gee No. 6 looks good. Had to look up the player numbers on the MFC website. Its Windsor.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 29th January 2024
With Grundy gone, Fullerton, BBB and Petty injured Schache has a sniff. Plus Smith out who often plays forward. No excuses for not training full on and more. So its JVR, TMc, Schache options for tall forward and ruck relief. Jefferson is an option but maybe not ready yet? Looks like we will rely on Fritsch and McAdam to fire up. Track may have to play mainly on ball? Looking thin on for Forward talls.

2024 Preseason Training Thread
I think if Petty, Fritta, Kosi and JVR are fit and in form delivery forward will improve immediately. Those players have huge talent and have good leading patterns and positioning.

2023 Player Reviews: #38 Oliver Sestan
Looks like he has talent, power and strength. Needs another season at Casey building fitness and preparing for senior level. Never know he may surprise us this year. Judd McVee did last year and maybe someone will surprise this year.

Welcome to Demonland: Kalani White
Nathan Brown on the Christmas DeeBrief podcast interview was excited by the talent and athleticism of Kalani White. Nathan is a very positive human being. If Kynan Brown has that watch out he will be good because he already has the talent. Nathan said only around 7 players under 184cm were drafted. Shows how tough it is for players like Kynan at around 181/2 cm. I could go on but have a listen. Great interview. Positive +++++++

2024 MFC Season Preview
If we slide it will not be far. The group will get a bit of fizz and bubble from the new recruits plus our draftees. Nothing like bringing a few fresh talented faces to training and game day. The pre season was all about freshening up the list which was done superbly.

2023 Player Reviews: #26 Jed Adams
The good thing is that our young talls will be given time to develop. All show talent.

2023 Player Reviews: #26 Jed Adams
Another Tall the coaches are confident will develop. He will be given plenty of time at Casey.

2023 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner
Likely more like 92/94kg now. Coachs' think highly of him. Talls take longer to develop. In the past when our list was not so strong talls would be rushed in before time. Now we let them develop via Casey which is good. JVR is an AFL exception for talls. They do not usually show what he has in his 2nd season. It was just as well we resisted the temptation to play his early.

2023 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes
A bit of time in the gym and injury free should him rise a level or 2. Hard to put on much weight with his slim body type so probably around 3 kgs together with the strength a maturing body develops should be enough. JVR just has to walk past a gym and he adds a couple of KGs of muscle. Suspect Kolt is the same.

Kossie's having a baby
Congrats to the very happy looking couple. Very nice pic. On a selfish note the next steps are Father sons/daughters in due course and the mandatory 100 games from Kosi.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Closed Sessions at Casey until 2024
Last year we moved the ball forward to slowly so the forwards were crowded. We kept it in could not score goals and got flogged on the rebound. Moving it forward quickly means we need pace and precise disposal. Then we need players with skill to get away from opponents on the lead or get the ball to ground in a spot where the smalls can go to work. So we either need players who can win the ball and kick goals in a crowed forward line or players who can move the ball forward quickly to players who can make position to receive the ball and create a goal. The only hole in my theory is that i have no idea how to make it all work in practice. The lounge chair is pretty comfortable ATM. Enjoy reading training watchers views on the young players coming through.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 4th December 2023
Just read through the posts. Thanks all for taking the time and making the effort to update the forum. Much appreciated. Sounds like they have come back looking good. With our trade ins' quality and our draft picks our list will be very strong.

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
I think Caleb is a great choice. He offers us a point of difference with speed, endurance and much needed run and quick movement to inside 50. Plus can kick goals himself.

Welcome to Demonland Koltyn Tholstrup
Some comments from Rookie me show why we picked Koltyn: A brilliant creator and finisher, many of Tholstrup’s disposals create opportunities for inside 50 targets, always looking to take the game on with his penetrative kicking. His bullish nature and strong contested work, along with his aggressive kicking decisions lead him to be a handy pinch hitter in the midfield as well.
