You’d be lucky to find them on here as they generally only attend the big matches (as depicted above) and wouldn’t visit Demonland where most of us are passionate enough to be members. Many are very wealthy (but mean) and often bowl up and congratulate you on a great win (as though they contributed in some way)! They squirm when you regularly ask them ‘have they joined the MFC yet’ responding with: ‘why as I am a MCC member and don’t need to?’ We don’t respect them!

Will 5 get us May + KK or do we need to end up with steak knives out of any deal to ensure we get KK (especially as a replacement for Hunt if he is traded)?
-
We know Kent’s quality (and so do St Kilda) so a swap would not be to either Club’s detriment if Long is as good as they are trying to portray!

Sheil a GWS reject? I guess your more qualified than eighteen FD managers! ?

Mathieson was there because he is a long-time, deep-pocketed Carlton tragic (who gifted them the majority of their poker machines)!

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
CBDees replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
It probably has and they are astute proposing the built facilities entirely on railway reservation land with no encroachment onto Yarra Park. My view is a training oval is only replacing grassland with curated grassland and tree loss would be minimal. Even if we put a post and rail fence to define the oval, it would remain accessible to the local residents and general public, pretty much as it is now and the training times when it isn’t will be less time than when it currently is inaccessible as a car park. If it is an oval, then it will cease to be a car park so,the residents will be better off. -
Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
CBDees replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yesterday I shared a tram with the President of the East Melbourne Group on his way to VCAT! Now he professes to be a MFC supporter (but I think that he is too tight to take out a membership) so I was happy for him to ask me what I thought about the proposed training facility. I am right behind this project (and have lived in East Melbourne for twice as long as he has) and I told him that I felt that it would be great for the local community as an asset and the football public. It came as no surprise to hear that he is against it (as he is a classic NIMBY and opposes everything) so I suspect that I may have to re-enter local politics and try and prevent their opposition. Any other East Melbourne residents on Demonland happy to put together a ticket to take over the East Melbourne Group? -
Longsuffering thanks for all your work behind the scenes! ?

Gawn better stay for the same reason! ?

Not sure I would be house-hunting at Casey if I was on his coin but at least it isn’t far from training is there is room to fit him under the Casey Demons salary cap!
-
I estimate approximately half the MCC members who ‘follow’ Melbourne actually “support” them by taking out MFC memberships. (They are not respected!) Should we continue on our upward trajectory, the pressure will be there to put their hands in their pockets. I expect an increase next year and the year after.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
CBDees replied to Tony Tea's topic in Melbourne Demons
Petty and Keilty both played well in our losing GF. There is also Hunt who played VFL and Baker who was injured. There is some talent for our FD to nurture! -
Billing’s old man (was) a Bombers supporter so presumably Jack was the same. Not sure why he would want to come to the Dees in a trade? After the Preliminary Final why would we remain a destination club? ?

Each year I go into the ballot for a table at the Grand Final. It is always an ABC table (anyone but Collingwood) and this year it was twelve Demons supporters. After yesterday two have pulled out, partly because of Melbourne’s loss and partly because they simply despise Collingwood. I will be there sporting a West Coast scarf because I still hate Collingwood and I want somebody to beat them! ?
-
But Collingwood have already been beaten in this Finals Series (by West Coast)! Win today and we have a very good chance!

Where will you be watching The Big Game
CBDees replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Any MCC members interested in watching it on the big screen at the “G” in the Members Dining Room, I have two spare seats for the 1.30 sitting for lunch? ? -
Where will you be watching The Big Game
CBDees replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have booked a table for lunch today at the MCG to watch it on the big screen. After the match, I intend to hide out somewhere so that I get a good possie for the GF next Saturday!? -
Don’t worry! We have got today’s and next Saturday’s matches in the bag! ?
-
Are you talking about two matches here?? Glad to see that you are confident about tomorrow’s Grand Final with Bayley BOG! ?
-
With all the alleged “supporters” pleading for bar codes to be eligible for seats, it is in stark contrast to the 100,000 Richmond members and 70,000 Collingwood members who all have bar codes but there are not enough seats to go around! Maybe there is a lesson there for Melbourne ”barackers” to convert to Melbourne “supporters” and take out membership? As a MCC/MFC member I won’t be using my barcode for this match, preferring instead to watch it live on the big screen in the ‘Members ‘ at the MCG!

Match Preview and Team Selection - Preliminary Final
CBDees replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The whole idea of the forum is to express opinions or analyse other people’s if they don’t add up. Joel Smith was not replacing either a forward or a wingman (Fritch’s strengths), he was selected for the back half (his strength). Further, he was named on the interchange. Nobody is saying that Smith is a better player than Fritsch. It is merely a matter of perceived needs on the day as I see the selection. -
When I started supporting the Demons, it was always the MCC Football Club!

Match Preview and Team Selection - Preliminary Final
CBDees replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why on earth would you do that? The whole (uninjured) team will be available, albeit with a 6-day break, further, all will have a VFL Premiership under their belt! Stupidest idea I have ever heard! I want to see two Demon Premierships in 2018! ? -
Let’s hope that they go hard at it, plenty of (two-week) injuries and lots of reports!
