Draft day! My order of preferred outcomes, based on the rumoured candidates for our picks - 1. Langford and Tauru 2. Langford and Allan 3. Tauru and Allan 4a. Langford and Lindsey 4b. Tauru and Lindsey Go Dees.

Feel like I'm taking crazy pills - just don't see it with this fella. In JT we trust etc though.

God, I hope not, Lindsay is extremely vanilla to me. He's not a Houston / Gulden level user, doesn't win a heap of contested ball and doesn't stand out athletically. Feels like a St Kilda player.

That's the dream outcome, if we don't trade down.

And Jackson. And Windsor. We only miss when we DON'T take the bolter.

Speculation or mail? I'd do the Giants swap in a heartbeat.

Fair enough. Was Sidebottom an elite runner as a junior? Keep in mind Miers, who you've also compared Reid to, is an elite runner now as well.

Agree - I think DS might view the Gryan comp as a negative, but I'm a big fan and think the role he plays is vitally important in modern footy. Not sexy but worth pick 9 (probably pick 11 on draft day).

Reckon his top 20% outcome is Sidebottom, not Mitchell. Even considering that, he's still a top 10 pick in my view.

Class, class, class. Lack of size and athleticism scares the hell out of me, but I still won't be surprised if he winds up playing 250+ games and retires with an AA blazer when it's all said and done.

Watched Parish live multiple times in his draft year, and he is my low end comp for Smith.

Not for me. Upside is Warner, downside is Shiel/Freeman. Different kind of player to Butters. To be fair, Butters is a very unique. FOS has a similar athletic profile, can swing forward and is a high damage per possession kind of player. Also worth remembering that Butters wasn't a big accumulator as a junior, much like FOS.

FOS is clearly the only appropriate Butters comp in this draft.

Looks to be more Sidebottom than Pendles to me. Good outcome either way!

I personally wouldn't split it if he's there - I've been sucked in by the potential. I think I'm higher on Jagga than you, but down on FOS.

Have a feeling that if North want to trade down and still grab Tauru, they won't want to trade down past our pick 5. Jagga isn't a typical Melbourne pick, and there's a chance that we have Draper rated lower than consensus. That leaves FOS, Lalor and Langford as a clear top 3 on our board. All guesswork of course, but I don't think it's hard to imagine a world where we have Tauru at 4 based on the above scenario, and if we get wiped out on the aforementioned top 3 (good chance as it stands today) pick him at 5. Think we'd do the above deal if we think there's a clear top 3 in this draft.
