The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
He gave a very good indication in his debut in the Hawthorn win last year as well. I think he had eight disposals and kicked two goals in the first half before he succumbed to a cramp/corkie. I remember he was very clean with his hands and showed very good attack at the footy in that game. He might take a few years to build up his body and tank, but I'm very confident he'll get there and be a very threatening forward for us.

This. Can't understand why we're wasting him in that dreaded defensive half-forward position.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
2017 first rounder + ANB (provided he plays 15+ games and increases his value a bit)? Would that be enough?

Anyone for cricket?
Brave innings from Renshaw. Hard to believe he's still only 20 (about to turn 21). Cracking innings from Mitchell Starc as well. Doing more with the bat and ball than Mitch Marsh, our preferred all-rounder.

Anyone for cricket?
Funny how some players seem more at home at international level than domestic. We saw Handscomb and Renshaw over the test series and now Stoinis at ODI level. Eleven sixes. Phenomenal innings to watch.

Anyone for cricket?
Another shameful performance. Surely that has to be Voges' last test match. Funnily enough, if he happens to never play another test, he will finish with the second highest batting average of all time. Staggering. Aside from Warner, Smith and maybe Khawaja, our batting depth is ludicrously thin. Ferguson had a shocking debut, but I'd still give him another go considering there isn't much else in the shed. The bowling isn't terrible, but it seems that there are so many bowlers that are constantly rotated in and out of the team, which makes it nearly impossible for them to develop bowling partnerships and strategies. It'll never happen, but I hope Cricket Australia invest in some youth and give some promising kids some games. They may get smashed around for a little while but they can't be much worse than what we currently have on the field.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Check out his highlights on the AFL website. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2016-10-19/get-excited-by-michael-hibberd Exactly what we lack off half-back.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Unless the recruiting team have their eyes on a certain player, I don't really see much need to trade back into the first/second round. Weideman is essentially our first pick this year and we have enough young guys at the club now as it is.

Damn, would've liked it if we hung onto pick 29. Though I get the feeling we're not done yet....

Don't know, but probably immensely better than he did in an Essendon one.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Next years second round pick is fair in my opinion. Especially considering we've had to wait a year for Melksham.- Classic Max Gawn Quotes

Fantastic second year. Dropped in form a little bit in the final three weeks, but he wasn't alone there.- When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Unfortunately, I think we were beaten by the Giants in a another game towards the end of 2013. Regardless, that is a terrible record to have. Hard to believe we haven't learnt from it since.- The youngest most inexperienced side
Having the youngest side for at least 15 rounds of the season certainly makes ten wins seem more impressive. Agree with the above though. It still hurts.- When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Just so everyone knows, the last time we won four on the trot was back in 2006- Jay Kennedy-Harris
http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-06-17/kennedyharris-injures-hamstring-again I seriously feel for Jay. He's had an awful run of injuries so far this year.- When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Great stat. We just missed out on the ton by less than a goal against St Kilda last week as well.- The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

I hold fears that Jesse will leave as Fremantle will likely offer him the whole dock. However, Jesse seems to have made some great relationships with the players and staff and seems to be over the homesickness he experienced when he suffered his back injury. If we keep performing well throughout this year and next, it will provide Jesse with further incentive to stick with us for the long haul. Regardless of what happens, let's just enjoy the ride and what comes with it.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Very early days but jeez, Oliver has a real 'Dangerfield' vibe about him. His breakaway pace and genuine X factor means he could be anything. That mark he took on the weekend oozed confidence as well. Having the guts to take on your man one on one in the defensive 50 and take a specky on him, you don't see that from many first year players.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
