A genuine surprise. Very impressed that this was not leaked ahead of time. Last I heard it was between, Bucks, Kelly or Lade but I guess the media was guessing just as much as we were (surprise, surprise) Love them or hate them, Geelong have been the AFL benchmark in the 2000's. I think King will be good for us (fingers crossed anyway!) No doubt Bucks was in the 'yes, pending better offer' camp. I can see why we didn't go down that direction.

I'm not writing off McAdam yet. He put in the hard yards over the pre-season and put himself in the position to give 2025 a good shake. Here's hoping that he's got a bit more luck on his side next season.

Another from the '21 group departs. I'll miss Charlie. I think with a full and inury free pre-season he'll have a good 2026. No animosity here. Good luck to him.

Ouch, that's a serious drop. Only 2k members ahead of North who are the lowest ranked VIC side for memberships. Then we enter expansion club territory... If that's not a wake up call, I don't know what is.

It begins... I was really hoping we'd keep Sestan for another year. Injured at the wrong time this season when it looked like he wasn't too far away from AFL selection.

Doesn't bode well for Verrell with Campbell sticking around alongside the likelihood of Heath and White joining us.

Is Verrell out of contract? He's improved this year but he still looks a mile off. Saying that, I can't see us delisting him if Campbell retires. Our ruck depth would be non existent. On that topic, I find it odd that even though we have the best ruck of the generation on our list, our history of developing young rucks over the last decade (LJ aside) is surprisingly poor. Lachie Filipovic, Mitch King, Austin Bradtke Kyah Farris-White. The list goes on. Fingers crossed Kalani breaks the pattern.

Defence looks totally overwhelmed whenever Frankston go forward. We looked better in the last ten minutes. If Culley isn't pinged for a push in the back in the goalsquare, we'd still be right in this. We're not without a chance, but we need to seriously bring it in the final quarter.

Hardie kicks his third and there's still some optimism out there.
