  1. Summary to date #1 pick in 2008 draft. Handed Norm Smith’s #4 Jumper. A world of expectations. Debut - Thrown to the wolves at 17 versus the filth on QB. Matures into tall forward, 3rd tall (not key forward) with roles in midfield, back 50 or ruck as needed. Develops into a good player but not the #1 star that was hoped. Becomes very popular player to majority of supporters and through the club, but also the whipping boy to the media & others. Top 5 in 2016 B&F. Signs to stay at Demons for a 3-year contract to end 2019. Preseason issue 2017 with his preparation. Not selected in a preseason match. Very good first half of 2017 - 6th after round 13 - then injured, loses form and is dropped. Comes back for final game and named in best 6 (afl.com.au & the age real footy). 153 games. Put up for trade. Goodwin says due to creating a culture of all meeting required standards. Mahoney says because Watts is in a ‘rut’ and needs fresh start. Watts is portrayed as being negative to the clubs standards. Watts wants to stay at Demons but when the coach wants you gone, it’s impossible to stay. 215 pages of emotive content on Demonland represents the feeling that this has created. The next chapter awaits ...
  2. Yes agreed. Saw him on grand final day. Looked like a good mover. Good size for a mid. Looks like an athlete and long kick. Worth considering at 28-35
  3. Pass on all. Go to the draft with 3 selections
  4. Agreed. But appears to be a lost cause. Kent had a few beers, copped a suspension and stays!! Obviously on less coin!!
  5. Packet of chips here. Pick 65 ish
  6. It’s not what is happening, it’s the how and this is my opinion, as valid as yours. Still you attacked my opinion and yet get offended when I reply. QED
  7. No boots. Just observations. Think it can be done better. Not to degrade a player.
  8. BTW Nathan Murphy is in the same style as Jack Watts. Talented at all sports. Tall forward but not key position. Could play high half forward. Not the most aggressive type. Private school pedigree. Would need a year at Casey. Worthy of our pick around 25-35. James Worpel is a huge talent and super inside ball winning type like Oliver. Would be ready physically to play round 1 2018. Hard ball contested player. No frills. Can turnover footy by foot and not fast. Either would be welcome but come with compromises. But which players don’t!!!
  9. And that’s why you don’t and should not post. It was about inconsistency being accepted. If we dismissed players for inconsistency, then a lot more players would be traded. It was about the way it has been handled. Most agree it is very poor. Watts has been dismissed and whilst I don’t agree with his latest post, it was probably due to frustration and hard to argue with that. I don’t agree with the way MFC have managed departures like Woewodin, Spalding, Green & James McDonald. All loyal until they were discarded like yesterday’s newspaper.
  10. Didn’t compare Watts to J-McDonald in playing style. Compared with coaching decisions to get rid of popular players like Woewodin, Spalding, Green & J.Mcdonald. Get the context. It impacts club, players & supporters morale and has shown to not be beneficial. I hope it pans out or MFC will have self destructed again. Top 4 in 2018 is the benchmark
  11. 199 pages... one of the most emotive posts ever. Port get Jack Watts in exchange for a packet of chips and MFC pays for the chips. Weak MFC. Goodwin and Mahoney talk about Character and Standards. They have eroded theirs and MFC more than Watts ever could or did. Surely they should disciplined Watts or taken on the challenge to again get the best out of Watts. Roos did. Instead they market Watts as a disruptive fickle type. Really!! Watts has been loyal when others like Scully & Frawley walked away. Watts has always had the best intent for MFC. Others have made decisions to move on club favourites. Woewodin. Spalding. Green. J-McDonald. Those decisions all failed and eroded club, player and supporter morale. It’s salary cap and personalities that have led to this. I am looking for top 4 in 2018. Goodwin has the players to deliver it. It’s his acid test.
  12. Just read that Dees would entertain pick 30 & 33 for pick 45 and Watts. To sweeten the deal, Dees would pay some of Watts salary in 18&19. Really? This shows how desperate we are to offload Wattsy. He must done some despicable acts and we must desparately need to free up salary cap room. A bitter and unsavoury outcome for a very popular and loyal player.
  13. I like the slapping scene in Flying High (Airport)
  14. I agree again. Landmark occasion
  15. I’m still laughing. Great work ET
  16. The bottom line ... no draft lottery. We get Lever. Win for the Dees. Finals in 2018. ???
  17. Agree Tigers 15,17 to Dees for pick 10 & 27 & 2nd round 2018 then 15&17 to Crows maybe Tigers too exhausted
  18. So Maynard now to A grade rookie likely get Lever: Crows for #10 and 1st rd 2018 pick AND Dees get #18 and Lever Balic for pick 45 Watts to PA for pick 29 ???? Joel Smith upgraded means picks 18 & 29 & 63 and no rookie spots
  19. Actually agree !! He was ok. Kicked a nice goal. Competed hard. Showed he is worth another year to prove himself
  20. And the earth is flat !!!!
  21. If we can snag pick 18 or 19 as part of Lever & Cameron deals, love to grab Joel Garner or Matthew Ling. Need more run and both are excellent outside runners and excellent disposal.
  22. 2018 is going to be huge. Can’t wait already. What fixtures we would like to see in 2018? Five wishes only ... ok we will allow MFC v filth on QB as a free hit. Here goes: ** MELBOURNE V Colling-filth on Queens Birthday Monday 1- Round 1 Demons v Crows at the MCG Lever to give it to Earwax Walker 2- Two games v Kangas Gotta bet them twice!! 3- Two big 60,000+ Home games v Bombers on a Sat night at the G (round 3 or 4) and v Tigers (Anzac Eve) Moneyspinners And Big Game Atmosphere 4- no back to back interstate games Need to decent break 5- Two home Friday night games The big stage is what we need. Maybe against Cats and Hawks.
