  1. Agree. A dying art. Tigers are the master of smothering the footy as well as blocks or shepherds to support the runners. Even if you don’t have the footy, you can still have an impact.
  2. DJ - might be worth a separate post. whose stocks went up or down ?? Moderator considerations??
  3. I only did accounting up to year 12. But for Tom McDonald , I would use the terms ā€œdepreciation ā€œ and ā€œwrite-offā€. I’m hoping he can have a big preseason and come back but I’m also pragmatic and maybe we can get some trade value for him whilst he’s still worth something.
  4. Preuss and pick 47 for Pick 22. Must somehow convince Swans to take the deal.
  5. We want you to stay JV

I still cannot believe he’s played 81 games. We gave him about 20 games for his development which hadn’t really seen any progress since. Surely he must be delisted. Surely.
  7. ā€œHope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insaneā€. We had hoped for Bennell We hope for a Premiership one day. MFC has led to my extreme insanity !!!

    Smith ...?
  9. Improvement may also be from less travel and actually a home game or two !!!
  10. Consistent umpiring Paying holding the ball against players like Danger and Martin when they actually get caught after trying to evade or push off opponents. (Ffs- two sets of rules)
  11. Improvements from within. ABSOLUTELY. Happens at every club so the bar keeps rising. Our contested footy is our main go. But our skills generally let us down. Every player can get better from Trac down to Jordan. As a club though there are crucial areas to get it right. INTENSITY- bring it every week Consistency- 100% for 4 quarters Discipline - on and off the field STRATEGY (pay attention Simon) With and without the footy - and perhaps a plan B Footy IQ Skills - transition of the footy by foot Decision making (Clarry - you’re a star but your attendance in this class is needed) Effective entries inside 50 to create goals Pace - run run run (we saw what Langdon brought in 2020) Tackling - effective tackling and pressure Physical strength and conditioning - though Burgo did a great job in 2020. Goal kicking accuracy (yes Bailey Fritsch - I’m looking at you) that’s a good dozen things to start to work on !!!!
  12. Do you want JV to stay?
  13. With 23, I’d look to bring in players like Jack Carroll, Eddie Ford, Jack Ginnivan or Archie Perkins OR use in a trade deal to get Tom Phillips from the Pies.
  14. Exactly. He is the perfect get to play in the opposite wing. He would be a lock in our best 22. Left footer. Gets the footy. God run. Skills. Smart player. I’d try to package up a deal for Phillips somehow though it’s a long shot because he’s highly rated by the Filth. MFC 2nd round pick 2020 (roughly pick 21-22) for Phillips and Pies future 3rd round pick 2021.
  15. Simply have to sign JV up for a further 4 years through to end 2024. He has the heart of a lion. You just can’t replace players like Viney. 2016 B&F winner. 2017 runner up in B&F. Had foot issues which impacted his 2018. 3rd B&F in 2019 3rd B&F in 2020 Leadership award in 2020. Heart and soul of the club.
  16. Joe Daniher ?? Alex Witherden Lions. āœ… Jared Polec Kangas ? Ben Brown Kangas ? Quinton Narkle. Cats ? Isaac Cumming Giants. ?
  17. The irony if the Dees took a chance. But we should be mindful of KK experience and Lamumba. It’s a very very unlikely scenario for him to get back and if he has a recurrence, Dees would be duty bound to manage his medical and mental well being. I’m a Pass on McCartin
  18. Totally agree 1. He’s a gun 2. love to have him at the Demons but 3. It’s obviously VERY unlikely
  19. I’d like to see us make a try for Alex Witherden from the Lions. Seemingly out of favour with Fagan. Would fit in perfectly to MFC as the small defender to replace Jetta. He had excellent skills, good pace and composure. Offer a nice 3 year deal and perhaps a pick acquired in a potential Preuss trade.
  20. No. It was Preuss and nth pick 62 for Dom Tyson. We got Marty Hore. Preuss really didn’t cost us anything!!!
  21. Preuss for Giants pick 39 seems about right. But I agree he is under contract and it would be good to get Swans and Giants to bid against each other. I like Preuss with his physical style but with Maxy Gawn and now Jackson’s development, he is surplus and backup only. I think we can trade him to get some value (plus let the man play AFL footy).
  22. I agree he would add some value Question 1 Salary cap and contract value? $$$ he is on decent coin and to get him , North would have to pay at least 1/3rd if his 2020-21 contracts. Question 2 His Trade worth? From AFL Website draft picks update, Giants have pick 39 which we could try to grab for Preuss. Then we could offload that pick for Polec. North may ask for a 2nd round however he was not in their best 22 even when they had 10-12 players out injured. Hardly justifies a pick lower than 40 imo
  23. People are crying out for players with pace. Hunt gives us that. People want goalkickers. Hunt gives us that. He should have been back in the team earlier but somehow Goodwin preferred Hannan and continued playing a disappointing Melksham.
