5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?
Ted Lasso replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Neeld hasn't been sacked in five years the club won't be around for it to matter. -
I thought is second half was acceptable, but why the hell was he playing as a decoy up forward? we needed his class around the ball.
-
I am a huge fan of chippa and i it was refreshing listening to this, Question: do you think this was the best effort the boys dished up this year? Chippa: Well, we didn't win so i can't say that! great to see a member of the leadership group have a good game today and genuinely wanting to win every game. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2013-05-19/james-frawley-round-8-postmatch

Gee our bottom end players are just that, bottom end, would be better off playing kids then these spuds.
-
I actually think it was the fact he had a player pushing down on the ankle as it rolled that hurt him the most, definitely looked painful in the replay so i certainly won't be judging him as soft just yet, Thought he looked much more up to speed with AFL football this game, certainly think he will make it.
-
So out for 6-8 weeks then?
-
Today we showed an AFL standard effort, but our skills and decision making were shocking at times, that's been the difference in probably 3 games for me now, we were capable of beating, Brisbane, Carlton and now the Tigers if we had abit more polish and even just clark and not the other injured players out there I feel this is the biggest knock i can give on Neeld, we have played 8 games, we should have beaten gold coast, and could have won the three mentioned above, we are possibly only polish and injuries and abit of confidence away from having 5-6 wins, How can Neeld say we are five years away, he is resigned to defeats we don't have to accept.
-
They were concerned about his lateral ligaments
-
6. Garland ( looked a class above his opposition at times ) 5. Frawley ( looked somewhere near his best form, some good attacking runs) 4. N.jones ( always gives his heart and soul ) 3. Dawes ( worked hard, good target could easily have kicked 4-5 2. Davey ( his skills are fantastic, turned back the clock ) 1. Jamar ( i thought he dominated his opponents in the ruck and it helped keep us in the game )
-
He is our most valuable player even with clark and co in, if we trade him it would be the silliest thing we have done in a while
-
Maybe a stint in the VFL would do him some good, get him dominating games
-
certainly not in his legs, but his stress fracture would be restricting that quite a bit, but at least he looked to be running well, that's a very welcome change
-
because he is underdone, he is a good overhead mark and personally i don't think we had a better option, i don't agree with the decision, i think he should be on the ball every game, but first game back after a calf injury there is some logical reasons behind it i think, might be the only time i agree with Neeld this year but still.
-
Trengove had 15 kicks, four of which set up shots at goal that impressed me, plus his work rate was better, looks like he is running more freely, didn't get heaps of the ball in the first half but he was playing a sacrificial sort of role so it's hard to judge.
-
I actually thought his second half was a pass, his first half was quiet and he looked a little more free with his running, certainly not the worst player we had today
-
Add bail to that list.
-
Our skills are the difference between us and where we should be when the effort is there, a full strength team and abit of polish and there is no reason we couldn't beat Richmond.
-
We lack polish, Davey shows just how big the gaps in skill are from some of the others
-
I know, i feel dirty saying anything nice about the tigers but for the greater good something has to give.

5 Years Says Neeld - Who is going to cop that?
Ted Lasso replied to Mongrel Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I really liked his season launch speech " you can expect these boys to be seriously competitive for longer this year " and then the season started, he has somehow topped how bad the start to last season was, we have gone further backwards and he has lost the players and fans, peter jackson must make his first head roll. -
Prestia, Thomas and so on, the players we desperately need to avoid 5 more years of torture, as well as Toumpas, Kent, Matt jones, Terlich thinking maybe they were better off in the VFL.
-
Neeld is showing more effort in desperately trying to lower expectations to save his job then the players are showing on the field, this is a very sad day for the once proud Melbourne Football Club.
-
I'd be pretty confident five more years like the last two and there won't be a MFC to rebuild, Neeld can't make it through this year
-
When bailey was sacked i thought, the next coach has a team that is full of young talent, possibly the best up and coming list in the comp, and Mark Neeld has destroyed any shred of confidence and flair they had.
-
Go out and try and bloody Win, i know the coaches don't care as long as you show effort but there is no reason we can't push the tigers who really aren't that great.
