Luke Tapscott knocking balantyne into next year would be alright.
-
What picks could we realistically hope to get, assuming we don't win a heap more games this year, a priority of 2 and 3 or something?
-
I think a premiership coach would be able to sell that a little bit better than the current coaching group, but i do believe we are on the right track in terms of building a list providing we can keep it together.
-
I see your point, but i think losing him would be a disaster, we need to place an offer he can't refuse infront of him and if he still wants to leave maybe we can work out some sort of trade at the end of the year so we get something of value for him.
-
Billings would be my number one pick, sorta bloke who can kick long and accurate would be a great asset kicking to our talls, very good player crouch or dunstan if we get a priority, both are hard at it physical midfielders, Crouch is a ball magnet and clearance machine.
-
I would have thought we would get a late first round early second round pick for him, he may be considered more valuable given he is one of the few experienced players at our club.
-
Hearing gary ablett signed with the dees would still upset me coming from damien Barrett.. cannot stand him.
-
Looks better down back, but do freo have a matchup for him?
-
So you would be unhappy if contract extensions were announced for this reason? haha
-
Some good news now announce contract extensions to Sylvia and Frawley and it will be a good day
-
They need to sit him down and say you're our most important player, here is a long term contract where you will be paid accordingly, if we locked him up for 4-5 years that would be bigger than bringing Dale Thomas to the club at the end of the year.
-
Col would be insane to start talks at this point, he has no idea what the structure or coaches are going to be like next year, our club is more of an unknown than any of the new clubs.
-
I'd be shocked if he wasn't over it by now.
-
Wait and see what Chip wants to do, but this season we should throw a big long term contract infront of him and do absolutely everything we can to convince him to stay
-
a win. and mark of the year from jeremy howe would be okay too
-
If the reason he wants to leave is to chase wins i can't see why he'd go to Stkilda, they have a few good veterans keeping them going as it is, Gold coast would be more attractive in that regard, depends if he just doesn't like the club and wants to leave to anywhere i suppose.
-
Can't be resigned to defeat now, win a few games between now and then and show him we are on the right path and match the offers from the other teams, just because another team is looking at one of our required players doesn't mean we can roll over and cry in a corner. this is a must retain player.
-
Put a three year contract in front of him that he can't refuse, he is vital.
-
Pies might be expecting to lose daisy, would have thought col would be asking for decent coin
-
It's the link on the first post of this topic, pretty sure Roo's and Eade are favourites. although i believe it has been updated since i posted that link.
-
No damien Barrett? haha
-
I think it's pretty disgusting that there are already odds on the next coach though, that's just shocking. fine to throw hypothetical idea's around but an actual betting market is pushing it.
-
I think the biggest thing he would provide is an example, he would be great onfield but a bloke like evans or viney could say that's what an elite mid looks like and trains like, which i think would be huge in terms of fast tracking development of players, you look at Geelong, a young player comes in and has 6-7 250 game dual premiership players around him right away and they generally play well from the word go.
-
Better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them. although i think Aaron davey would even be a better player than Gillies based on what i have seen.
-
Neeld and Dawesy could drop round to his place for a coffee and innocent catchup with a chequebook
