  1. Apparently we seriously considered him when we traded for Hogan, wouldn't be at all surprised if we pick him, but i'd prefer Aish or Sheed.
  2. I think Jesse Hogan and Jack Viney are going to be our poster boy players for the next 10 years, so that alone gives them a big measure of importance to us, as the club rises back to being a competitive unit we will be needing them to take up superstar status, i feel the opportunity for Trenners and Grimes to reach such heights may have passed but that doesn't at all mean they can't be good players for us, maybe trenners can be our luke ball and Grimes can play an enright role.
  3. from all i have seen and heard the club is expecting clark to be fine, the original injury is no longer an issue and it's where the screw was creating almost a hot spot like response, working on the theory that he will be right to go at the start of pre season and they can ease him into things and should be 100% next year.
  4. I like the idea, i think we need to chase two experienced mids though, a midfield of Jones, Viney, toumpas, grimes, trenners, sheed, cross, thomas and adams looks pretty handy, and is realistic, we would have to pay overs to appeal to thomas imo though, would need to be sure he is going to get back to top form.
  5. I am fairly confident he will re-sign fairly soon, i think the club would be well aware of how important his is to us, how popular he is with the young fans and his huge upside so i am sure they will offer him a deal accordingly, Sylvia i am not so confident about
  6. well done maxy!
  7. just wish he would sign already
  8. he could choose to play through it and not tell the public in theory?
  9. imo he is a required player, it would have to be a fantastic offer
  10. says as much that most wouldnt have either of our captains in top 10.
  11. Really? i thought he was taller than that :/ okay ignore that idea.
  12. It's really interesting, i have worked with people who have OP and to me it screams of that, but i would have thought if that was the case he would have been put on ice, and it's been going on for too long to be just the stress fracture, is he just not the player we hoped he would be? is it the captaincy? is it an injury or a combination of injuries? is it confidence? all of the above? I still hold out alot of hope he will be a good player for us, maybe not an Ablett or a Judd but i see no reason he can't be our very own luke ball.
  13. Don't want to fall into the trap of thinking Hogan will rescue us straight away, assuming clark and dawes are fit he will be our third forward and should give us a handy target, hoping for more in his first year might be abit foolish
  14. Senior assistant= Neil craig
  15. I think Grimes and Trengove have a role in the team and are B grade player but not the out and out guns we hoped at this stage, Grimes was good early this year and trenners is probably a solid B grade mid because of his tackling, i think as the lists develop trenners will play hff and grimes will play hbf
  16. We are due to interview Choco this week correct? would be interested to know what exactly our search criteria is.
  17. Jones keeps getting hard tags, hoping as viney and co develop the pressure will come off him and he can keep improving, but yeah, Frawley is a gun.
  18. Thought i would break up some of the negative threads at the moment, who in your opinion is our most important player and why? i would say in my opinion it's 1: Nathan jones ( heart and soul midfielder, spiritual leader and right in the middle where the battle is won and lost ) 2: James Frawley ( gets the best forward week in week out under huge amounts of inside 50's) 3: Jack viney ( really is the future of our midfield and our club, future captain imo)
  19. would tapscott potentiall play the medium defender role for garland?
  20. in: tapscott, strauss out: garland, kent when is spencer due?
  21. the thing that bugs me is on paper trenners is doing okay, over the course of the year he has upped his average touches by 7 he is leading our tackle count and making a solid contribution, he makes mistakes but find a player who doesnt at times. he deserves a full pre season with no injuries at the end of this year before we can even hope to know where he is at.
  22. I think maybe Neeld was sacked because he had won what 5 games out of 40 something, made some terrible off field decisions and had more 100 point losses next to his name than anyone i have ever seen apart from perhaps Kevin sheedy at GWS, either way he wasn't good enough. Neil craig IMO has come in and done exactly what we needed him too, united the playing group, helped the boys enjoy their footy again and has them playing around where i think we hoped they would this year anyway, with mitch clark fit and craig coaching all year we may have won 5-6 games, had a few tight ones and not been blown away, but does he have them playing out of their skin and members getting back on board? no, but he is doing okay. what you have to understand is that it would take a pre season for the players to shift to Neil craigs style and for him to get everything in place, we aren't seeing the new game style and list changes he might implement next year if he stays on, just a man trying to recover from our clubs greatest coaching mistake in a long time.
  23. Yeah, that's a good point, 21 as part of a deal for adams sounds better anyway
  24. throw in mckenzie or prestia and they can have both, and gillies as a token of good will.
  25. lets say we get pick 2 and then 21 because gws have the extra pick, would you be happy with 21 for vince? vince and aish for the first two picks would adress our needs somewhat
