  1. That will be up to him, i suspect he will attack the ball at 100 miles and hour and have a real dip, hopefully this inspires a few of his team mates to do the same.
  2. I am really keen to see how good Freo are at full strength, i have tipped them to finish top 4
  3. I wouldn't have said McCartney is safe in his job either, taking five years is fine but you need to show the path you are on, you need to sell the brand to the supporters, players and board and on the most part it seems the players and supporters don't back in what they're seeing yet, Neeld may be a good coach, but if we perform like we did last week he is going to be in the line of fire.
  4. Very deserving of the Upgrade! all demons fans can ask for is that blokes earn the guernsey through hard work and this bloke has done it, now he just needs to make the most of the opportunity.
  5. I have no idea, but you don't lose pace for no reason, it could potentially be that he was carrying injuries last year and this year it's his stress fracture, but again in seasons when we don't have alot to gain in terms of finals it would seem smarter to not make guys play through injuries
  6. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/melbourne/news/2013-05-16/magner-promoted-to-senior-list.workstation there ya go
  7. GC won't let him go easily, it'll take a first round pick, if watts wants to leave, trade him for pick 15-20 and then pass that on for prestia, or outright trade watts for prestia if GC are interested in that Can't see anyway they'd let him walk for a second round pick, and we would have to be very careful to make sure we get the first pre season pick selection if that fails.
  8. I work within the fitness industry and more specifically with people with medical conditions and injuries and to me it screams of OP, if that's the case he needs to be given time to get on top of that and he could still become the player we hope he could be. I agree with Paul Roos in that he is probably our most talented player, and he is still very young so if we can get it right now it could be very exciting
  9. I agree with Grimes, but then Kane kornes and joel corey i wouldn't consider to be any more talented so if he turns out to be that sort of player i won't be complaining, i ultimately see him as a classy hard working half back if we develop some of these mids that we either have or are getting Trenners i still think can be an elite mid for us, i understand why he was made captain but i don't agree with it, i think they should have let the young man find his feet first, has alot of the same attributes as a James hird or Jimmy Bartel type player, wouldn't be the worst half forward either.
  10. This weeks the coaches office came across to me like he was thinking this would possibly be his last one, he seems to be resigned to the fact it's more of a case of when rather than if, and if that's indeed the case he needs to be either backed or sacked ASAP
  11. I think the midfield is more young than no good, Grimes, Jones, Toumpas, Viney, Trengove plus 2-3 more at least at the end of this year in 3-4 years time should be a very capable midfield
  12. Didn't he do that with GWS to get to Richmond in the first place?
  13. I will lose it if we hire Mathew Knights.
  14. So not reading it would be a better option than sooking?
  15. What if instead of interviewing Billings before the draft we get brendan lade to chase him and if he runs we know not to draft him ? haha
  16. Better to be slight than untalented, i'm sure a pre season under mission and we could get abit of weight into the kid.
  17. I would happily take Billings at pick 1 on what i have seen, his kicking is amazing, he runs harder than anyone on the ground and he would be ready to go, i'm sure dawes, hogan and clark would love him sending the ball to them, if we get a priority, dunstan and billings or billings and crouch for me
  18. I just found this, there is already a betting market for our next coach and Neeld hasn't been sacked yet. http://www.sportal.com.au/afl-news-display/who-takes-mark-neelds-job-234778 I notice that Sheedy, worsfold and Williams aren't mentioned, strange because i would rate Choco as my second choice behind paul roos
  19. Not much point in existing if we aren't working to something, Frawley isn't old either, i'm sure Port were probably saying the same thing last year and this year they will go very close so it can turn around quickly with the right people in place
  20. the thing about ratten is Carlton started last year playing some fantastic attacking football, then they had injuries to key players and they couldn't play like that without them, he was very unlucky in my opinion. Honestly i'd rather Paul Roos or Mark Williams, but i wouldn't be crying in a corner if we got ratten, and really why wouldn't they want to come? good forward line, if we chase prestia and thomas maybe another during the trade period and possibly a priority pick, we could turn things around pretty quickly under a different coach.
  21. Can't trade Frawley, if we want to win a premiership down the track with this list we need our full back, at his best he is close to the best defender in the comp I would entertain a first round pick but probably not 2 or 3, maybe a similar sort of pick that we gave up for dawes, or if it has to be a player maybe Jack watts, they won't let him go cheaply though
  22. And it suits our forward structure perfectly, fast direct movement into Dawes, Clark and Hogan would be a nightmare for defenders
  23. I love the idea of getting Black down, i wonder if he would be worth considering on a one year deal as a playing coach like Luke power at GWS? Would give us some great on field experience and a short term contribution leading into a coaching career with what should be a good emerging midfield
