  1. Head of the football department is vital, not something we can chance, maybe he would be better as a forward development coach or something, could think of much worse influences working with clark, dawes and hogan, possibly watts if he plays forward.
  2. I agree, we need our best team on the park for a stretch of games, a break out year from 2-3 blokes and abit of confidence back and things could turn quickly. Just look at Port.
  3. I can't see Gawn going anywhere we have put alot of faith in him considering all our injuries, a contract extension to chip would be massive but obviously not a priority at this stage.
  4. If he walks he is well within his rights to do so but it's vital we replace him with someone of similar experience as it will free up cap room, maybe a Nick Dal Santo
  5. I think Neeld wants us to be Collingwood, and it doesn't suit our list so it's not working on any level. we look much better with a geelong style plan
  6. After one off season our list looks more like a spud farm than an AFL list, some of the players we have signed is an absolute joke.
  7. More simple, don't pay a bloke 1.5 million dollars a year at least when we don't even know for sure he'd be a good mid? haha 1.5 would get us 2-3 very good quality mids.
  8. Barrett will use any excuse to have a dig at us, he's just a [censored], simple as that
  9. It will be a real test of the senior players to see if they're willing to protect the younger kids abit, dawes should get right up him if he goes near jimmy
  10. You're joking? they can't have seriously been that stupid can they?
  11. Look i couldn't care less what the result is as long as at least half the players look like they want/deserve to be out there, the effort last week was a disgrace
  12. This thread still give me a laugh
  13. Dale Thomas ( free agent ) Dion Prestia ( pre season draft ) the priority pick we are likely to get plus Jack watts would make some decent trade bait! I can say with Absolute confidence we have a better chance of getting Thomas and prestia plus potentially two more than we have of buddy even entertaining an offer from us without AFL assistance.
  14. Nah, we would be better off spending that money on possibly 2 A grade Mids.
  15. Fair enough mate, it's been a rough 6-7 years that's for sure, that's why i hope Neeld is sacked and they get the next appointment right! Jackson will fix the structure of the club, we need a new coach to rebuild the culture into the new structure and that's going to take time unfortunately but it will be a hell of alot quicker and easier if we make the right decisions on coaching and drafting and trading from this point on.
  16. That will be up to him, i suspect he will attack the ball at 100 miles and hour and have a real dip, hopefully this inspires a few of his team mates to do the same.
  17. I am really keen to see how good Freo are at full strength, i have tipped them to finish top 4
  18. I wouldn't have said McCartney is safe in his job either, taking five years is fine but you need to show the path you are on, you need to sell the brand to the supporters, players and board and on the most part it seems the players and supporters don't back in what they're seeing yet, Neeld may be a good coach, but if we perform like we did last week he is going to be in the line of fire.
  19. Very deserving of the Upgrade! all demons fans can ask for is that blokes earn the guernsey through hard work and this bloke has done it, now he just needs to make the most of the opportunity.
  20. I have no idea, but you don't lose pace for no reason, it could potentially be that he was carrying injuries last year and this year it's his stress fracture, but again in seasons when we don't have alot to gain in terms of finals it would seem smarter to not make guys play through injuries
  21. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/melbourne/news/2013-05-16/magner-promoted-to-senior-list.workstation there ya go
  22. GC won't let him go easily, it'll take a first round pick, if watts wants to leave, trade him for pick 15-20 and then pass that on for prestia, or outright trade watts for prestia if GC are interested in that Can't see anyway they'd let him walk for a second round pick, and we would have to be very careful to make sure we get the first pre season pick selection if that fails.
