  1. Never in doubt! by 2029 he's going to be some player!
  2. Steer well and truely clear of this bloke
  3. I would absolutely make a play for him if he indicates any kind of interest in coming to Victoria.
  4. The backline in this scenario would be May, Lever, McDonald, Rivers, Howes, and Windsor giving us some run and dash, a role he's very capable of playing.
  5. The changes i'd make are In: Kozzie Hunter Fullerton (FWD/second ruck) - Leave JVR in the forward 50 where he belongs Out: Salo Brown Woewodin
  6. Jake Bowey is already a better version of exactly the same player.
  7. I'm loving what Clarry is doing at the moment, he's clearly nowhere near his best, getting a lot of attention but he's battling his [censored] off and playing a team role when it's needed! what i absolutely love is i think previously Clarry would have gotten frustrated and given away stupid free kicks when he's not flying, but now he just seems to want to help the team win. he's had a very hard time clearly and not helped himself but geez it's good to see the redemption arc that's playing out in 2024
  8. We are absolutey the last team that you want to be playing against when your forward line isn't firing because the margin for error is so thin. a smashing is on the cards here.
  9. I certainly don't think they should be entitled to any top end assistance, if anything perhaps an end of first round selection that they're required to trade might be a good option to get some extra talent in the door. it's easy to forget West Coast are one of the biggest and most powerful clubs in the AFL, coached by a guy who's taken them to 2 grand finals, a premiership and has an incredible resume, they're in good hands, but it'll take them another 2-3 years before we see an upward trend in my opinion
  10. it's Ben Brown, Matt Jefferson, Tom McDonald. Josh Schache and Tom Fullerton. but the two above are very very comfortably ahead of this list in my view. It's not an ideal situation
  11. Harry Petty will be back for the Hawks game, we'll be banking everything in our 2024 tilt on JVR and Petty staying fit and playing well together
  12. it's breathtakingly lazy from derm, although not surprising. the real story out of this game is that a swans midfield, minus Mills, Adams, and Parker smashed us at contested ball, clearances and ALL of the stats our mids pride themselves on. I don't see that happening too many times this season and would suggest the dogs mids are going to cop the response.
  13. Far out. the Swans scored 22 times from 65 inside 50's we scored 19 times from 51 inside 50's we were more efficient than the Swans, in awful conditions, missing some key players from the front end.
  14. I reckon Max needs to remember he's possibly the best ruckman that's played the game and if he doesn't want to be stopped, he won't be. Needs to find a bit more animal about him and impose himself. in the 2021 prelim final the cats tried to do something similar, we saw how well it worked.
  15. I'd go a bit of a shake up. Kozzie, Fullerton, B.Brown in Schache, Laurie, Bowey out give us some actual targets up front
  16. I think ordinarily they'd like to keep Laurie in the team bug given Kozzie is out i think they'll go with Chandler in, Laurie sub
  17. Got a feeling JVR will have a good game tomorrow night, he was so close in the practice matches, leading well, getting to great spots, it just didn't quite stick for him. Against the Blues he missed a few shots but could easily have kicked a little bag. i am very optimistic he could snag 4-6 goals
  18. I would almost guarantee this would have been driven by Sparrow and his management backing him to improve his stocks and sign a much more lucrative deal in 2026 rather than the club being conservative, if we could have locked him up for 5 i reckon we would have jumped at it.
  19. I'd guess we will set our year up very similar to last season where everything is built towards hitting our best form in the finals. if we're healthy i am confident we will be playing in a prelim at least.
  20. I think we should be incredibly proud of the way the club has handled this off season, it's been a mess, and some of the interesting articles coming out of the herald sun haven't helped, but i feel we have shown our culture is strong and we're ready for the season. on a side note, it sounds like Clarry has been to hell and back so for him to tick all the boxes and be selected for round zero is an enormous accomplishment and something i hope he's very proud of.
  21. Awesome signing! Sparrow has played a really selfless team role the last 3 years which probably hasn't allowed him to show supporters how good he actually is! i've spoken to a couple of people involved with the club and they both said they rate him as an elite prospect and think he can become an All Australian level midfielder. I would expect he will play a more balanced role in 2024 and we'll see him kicking more goals, taking more marks and being a real handful around the ground. there is a lot of Luke Parker about him
  22. It's perfect for the club really, no pressure or expectation externally compared to the extreme levels of the last few years. I've got a feeling we're going to make a few "Experts" look a bit silly in 2024
  23. It's ultimately a practice match and means very little in the grand scheme of things but the things i noticed: The improvement in efficiency inside 50 was obvious the midfield and stoppage set ups look good, McQualter has made an impact. Tommy Sparrow is ready for his best year. Windsor, Howes, Billings all improve the team
